Nightshot is sweet!

You can take fully lit video in total darkness.

Ha! Turn on your Nightshot, stand in a dark room and have someone play with your TV remote. You will actually see the infrared light comming out of the remote!!

The problem with the link is that there are back-slashes in there with the forward slashes. If all of the slashes were forward slashes (proper HTML/URL coding), it would be OK in all browsers.

You can have a lot of fun at WDW with nightshot....Haunted Mansion in the dark....even in spots with complete darkness, you can still see the wallpaper.

I taped people's faces in the stretching room after the lights went out...priceless.

This has been said before, but "the voyage of the little mermaid" is totally different...you can see the guys moving the fish and props around in black suits.

Same goes for fantasmic.

I love my nightshot camera...I'm looking for a new one, and I'll only buy a sony now for that reason :)

I pulled the song off a Disney newsgroup.

I have a bunch of direct complete "in-studio" recordings of many WDW attractions.

You can film in nightshot in allot of places....but don't do it on Tower of Terror. They will interupt the ride and demand that you shut your camera off over the speaker....very embarassing.

Remember, they have an IR camera on the left side of the "elevator". If you turn on your infrared, you will stand out on their screen like a giant "infrared" flashlight in the dark....calling lots of attention to yourself!

No way to hide it.

No, not really. Mostly just hidden stuff like tracks and gears and parts and stuff,....nothing too interesting. Well,.....there was the time I turned on the nightshot while in the "Haunted Mansion" and saw a bunch of ghosts floating around that I couldn't see without it. They were great special effects and looked very real. I kinda wondered why Disney would spend the money on such elaborate special FX if you counly only see it with a camera and infraded light.

Oh well,...go figure

Many people already have "pseudo" night-shot on their camcorders and don't know it. If you have a black and white mode on your camcorder, turn it on, turn off the lights and press some buttons on your TV remote. Look at this in the camera.. you should see light emitting from the remote if you have a true black and white mode. Walllahhh.. your camcorder can also see in infrared light! My cheapo Cannon 8mm camcorder can do this. :) I've heard you can enhance things you film in the dark by putting a transparent yellow lens over your camcorder's lens. I've yet to try it, but will once I find some transparent yellow plastic. I wonder if Easter basket colored plastic wrap will work? I think the Sony night-shot basically takes advantage of this black and white mode by shining infrared light on objects, so that the camera can see it. Someday I will buy an infrared light (maybe a photo micro-light). I'll attach it to my camcorder for the cheap handy-man's "night shot". :) It should work. :)
