Eh there is nothing to be scared of clowns for!
I went to the Ringling brothers and Barnum and Baily`s circus last week for the first time and I had the time of my life! :D

Clowns ARE creepy!

Too many animal rights violations by Ringling Bros (according to the USDA and other organizations) for me to return to one of their shows, although I did love going as a child! I used to love the acrobats.

Animal rights violations?
IF true why doesn`t someone do something about it? after all they are based in the US.

Darrel.. i'm gonna be blunt.

Have you been living in a cave the past 10 years and not watched the nightly news? There have been several exposés over several national news networks. Just do a search online for ringling bros and animal cruelty. In fact, click here and see the search results.

And why doesn't someone do anything about it? They have been fined many times and they just continue to pay the fines. Why? Because like George Steinbrenner (salary cap fins) and Universal Orlando (noise ordinance fines), they will make their money back tenfold.

The best way to curb this behavior is to simply ban Ringling Bros.

Ok, I will say it...
Ringling Brothers is now owned by Kenneth Feld. Yep, the same guy who owns Disney on Ice. He is all about money! His Father, Irvin, originally bought RBBB in November of 1967, after seeing the decline of the circus. It was purchased for 8 million, after John Ringling North moved to Rome. Irvin died in 1984, His son, Kenneth took over. Its all down hill from there. He fired 90% of the circus Blue Unit cast, and brought in more kitchy entertainment. Oh, and from what I understand, John Ringling North was paid in CASH:hammer:
I also have to admit, I have been fascinated with the Circus, but the last one I saw as when I was like 12...The Clyde Beatty Cole Brothers Circus. I have recently reading some books, and doing some research on Circuses.
Check out these books:
The American Circus:an illustrated history- By John Culhane
Under the Big Top- By Bruce Feiler
Mud Show: A Circus Season- By Fred Powledge
P.T. Barnum: America's greatest Showman- By Philip B. Kunhardt, Jr.
And there is a book Called Ringmaster...But its out of print. It is about a season with RBBB.
Ok, So I read too much!
LOL!:p

Last circus I attended was an old fashioned style tent circus, complete with midway. It was a hot summer night in the mid~70s. Lets just say the weather was NOT conducive to my cousin blowing bubbles under the big top...and she quickly became the forth ring :lookaroun

I was never afraid of clowns till I read IT by Stephen King. NOW Im afraid of them...them and Grizz's avatar. Are those things in Spectromagic really THAT scary?
