Help!!!

I'm going to be at WDW the weekend of Sept. 6th. I made a PS at California grill for 8:30 to celebrate my husband's birthday. (Two of his sisters, and his BIL, will be joining us; one sister lives in the area with her husband, the other is visiting them from out of state)

I checked the "official" schedule before I called, to make sure we were there for the fireworks at MK. However, I just reread my Monitor, and Night of Joy is also happening that night.

This raises two questions.

1. Will the fireworks still be at 10, as scheduled?

2. Will it be horrible trying to get to the Contemporary, both for the "offsite" guests, and for us, since we're staying at the Swan?

I'm seriously considering changing restaurants, perhaps to Shula's.

DONT Change Resturants whatever you do The CG is the Best!!!

1. I would think the Fireworks will go on as scheduled

2. You can awalys take a Bus to MK and walk from the MK to the Contemp. Its a nice 10 minute walk...

It's been a couple years since I worked Night of Joy but a couple things stick in my head.

ONE--- Park closes early 6pm, WDW's official site confirms. So depending on where you got the 10pm time will depend if that is right. I suggest calling 407W-Disney(934-7639) And they maybe able to tell you when the firworks are for the event.

Also, you shouldn't have too much problem with getting there since it starts at 6pm and many people come in on buses. Majority is mostly kids from church groups and organizations.

You could go over to Epcot and catch the monorail over as well.

I second walking through Epcot and then taking the Resort Monorail over to the Comtemporary.

Thank-you, everyone.

We still have to work out the logistics, but my BIL said that he prefers CG, fireworks or not.

I think a bus to the entrance, then a short walk to the CG would be best. Since some of the "Night of Joy" guests will be staying onsite, wouldn't the buses still be running? If not, we might have to break down and take a cab. I won't have my walking shoes on, and would prefer to arrive for dinner neat and unruffled, rather than sweaty and wrinkled! (My clothes, I mean...not much I can do about the rest of me. )

Hi Mom, :wave: We just got back from WDW, and ate at CG on Aug 20th (for our 10th wedding aniversary) I have a trip report floating around somewhere, but I havne't got that far into it yet. CG was great. Good food, amazing view and good service. Our Ressies were at 7:20 and did not feel like waitng at the table until 9:30 so we left around 8:45 and came back to watch them from the outside observation deck. It was really nice. Also as far as transportation goes, if you have a car you can get valaet parking for 6$, it might be worth it.

We took the bus to MK and then the monorail to Con, but walked on the way back to MK since the Monorail tends to get very crowded at Con with all the people going to TTC.
