I can tell you exactly how many pictures you can take if you tell me what megapixel your camera is. This tells me the size of the file each one is.

at 3.2megapixels (depending on the compression options your camera has available) i would say you'd max out at around 137 pictures on the 128MB card and 17 pictures on the 16MB card...

i dont know how much of a shutterbug you are, but i would definately think about investing in at least 1 more memory card - expecially if you aren't bringing a laptop to dump your pictures onto each day.

you said memory stick, so i'm assuming you're using a sony digital camera. depending on the model, you may be able to use the memory stick pro cards which offer up to 1GB (maybe more?) of storage...

i used to bring a 3.2megapixel camera to disney, and easily went thru a 128MB card everyday. i'll admit that i was fairly liberal in my shooting - and i did have a laptop with me to dump my pictures each night tho :)

eeeeek

if your pictures are 160KB you are not using all your megapixels :) at 3.2MP i would think your pictures would be around 700 - 800kb per pic

check your settings... i dont recall 100% how to navigate the menu on a sony cam but just look for something that says 'file size'

using the lower setting is fine, you can still get away with good quality 5x7 prints, but why not get your moneys worth out of your camera! you paid for 3.2MP, why not use em :)

At 3.2 megapixels, your file size should come out to about 1.2 meg a pice. I had a sony and this is what they were. In that realm, expect to get about 85 pictures on your 128 meg card and about 10 pics on your 16 meg card. I think you are way low on memory card space. You can buy 256 meg cards for your camera fairly easily. These are 2 128 meg cards in 1. You can switch between them with a simple a-b switch. I would look at a place like e-cost.com and see what they have from Lexar media. I would think you would like to have at least 1 gig of storage so you can shoot without worries.

As a side bar, I know there are a few places on property (magic kingdom for sure) which has a service where they can empty you memory stick and burn it to cd while you wait. I think it costs about $20 per memory stick though.

Someone mentioned in another thread that this service costs $13 inside the parks. But, if you have a car, Walgreens will burn the stick to a CD for $3.

In the Magic Kingdom, I'm pretty sure they do it in Exposition Hall.

BTW...Most digital cameras will tell you the capacity of the card simply by turning them on. The number should show up at the bottom of the LCD. Make sure your memory stick is empty. The number will increase or decrease depending on the resolution you have your camera set on. You need to review the manual to determine which resolution is best for you. I have a 3.2 megapixel camera too and I set my camera at a 1024X768 resolution which is sufficient for a nice 8X10 photo when printed. This resolution gives me well over 500 pictures on a 256mb flash card. If I increase the resolution to 1600X1200, it cuts the capacity in half but now the pix are big enuf for 11X14 prints or bigger. If i set the camera to the max resolution, I can print posters but the capacity decreases dramatically due to the large file size. Try to read up on the relationship between the camera resolution, the size of the photos and the capacity of the memory stick.

'Normal and Fine' refer to the compression of the picture, not the resolution. I don't have a Sony but 790 pics still seems high for a 128mb stick unless the resolution is set at the lowest. Be careful that your resolution isn't so low that the only decent picture you can print is 2in x 3in. I'm worried that there is another setting that you're overlooking. You may have to go into the camera's menu to find which resolution the camera is set on.

I could easily mislead you on this and would defer to someone who owns a Sony camera for a recommendation. However, if I had to choose, I'd go for a setting somewhere in the middle...2.0 maybe?

If you have two settings, fine and normal, I would shoot at the fine setting.

Please, please, please take your photos at the highest resolution possible. Let me tell you why.
Let's say you have the settings for 1.2 mega pixels. While this is enough data to fill a 3x5 print, is assumes you are not going to crop at all. Once you crop the picture, you must depend on the software or the printer driver to "guess" at what goes in between. so, you lose all the fine details of your pictures. Plus, let's say you take that "perfect" picture and want to make it an 8x10 (which a 3.2 megapixel camera can easily do), if you set the resolution below the maximum, what might look fine as a 4x6 now looks grainy as an 8x10.
I think the best way to visualize this is to imagine you have a puzzle. When this puzzle is put together it takes up the size of your dining room table. You think it is great, but think it woudl look awesome as the rug that fills your entire dining room. Now, your goal is to take the puzzle as is (without adding any pieces) and make a rug out of it. Obviously, you will have to make a space in betwen each piece to spread it out and then approximate what the colors, texture, etc. would be in between them.
This is exactly how a picture works, the pieces would be the same as a pixel of information.
I say spend a couple of hundred dollars (you would spend this on film for just the 1 trip anyway) and buy 2 256 meg memory sticks. Here is a link to the product
http://www.ecost.com/ecost/shop/detail.asp?dpno=140089
You may have to copy and paste the link. Take your pictures at the highest setting (3.2 megapixel and fine mode). I promise you will not be disappointed.

if you do decide to burn to CD, DON'T do it at WDW... it's a ripoff, and it takes too long for them to do it. You give them your memory card, and depending on what time of the day you give it to them, it can take anywhere for 6 hours to the next day.

Go to Walgreens for that... there are 2 located within a 5 minute drive of WDW.
