Help With FastPass+ Strategy

Hello!!

I am new to this forum :) My husband and I will be traveling to Orlando this September, and will be at the Disney World for 2 days. We are going to Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. I will be reserving our fastpass+ soon and wanted to see if anyone had any advice for me, particularly for Magic Kingdom.

For Magic Kingdom, we have a breakfast reservation at Be Our Guest for 8:05am. As of now, the park is set to open at 9am, so we should be getting into the park early. I've read this means we can line up at a rope and be some of the first to get on rides such as the Seven Dwarf Mine Train (a top priority for us to ride since we weren't able to on our last trip). With that said, should I still try to get a FassPass+ for the Dwarf Mine Train, even if I can only get a later reservation (say 5pm or later)? Or should I save my FassPass+ for other rides and just rely on getting on the ride before everyone else after breakfast? My main concern is that Disney now has this Early Morning Magic thing going, so there are sure to be people already riding the Mine Train by the time we get there. Could anyone help me with a strategy for our day? Thanks!!

How exciting!

The strategy DH and I basically use is we think "what rides will have long lines, too long to wait it", "what will we not be able to ride without a Fastpass", and "what rides do we just hate waiting in line for?"

At MK, we typically aim for FPs to Mine Train, BTMRR, and Peter Pan. On a second MK day we'd probably do Mine Train, Space, and Splash.

If the park opens at 8am that day for Extra Magic Hours, you can be sure the line will be long after your breakfast. I'd definitely suggest a Mine Train FP no matter if you plan on riding it early or not. This allows you to ride it once or again when the line becomes unbearable in time.

Have fun!

Also consider that breakfast can (and likely will) take longer than 50 minutes, so you may not be out in time to get to Seven Dwarfs Mine Train before everyone gets there.

Thank you for the responses guys!
We won't be there on the same morning as Extra Magic Hours, but there is this new thing Disney is now doing called Early Morning Magic (I think its called that), where people pay to eat breakfast and ride Mine Train, Peter Pan, and Pooh Bear. There was a lady who blogged about her experience eating Breakfast at BOG at 8am and then heading straight to The Mine Train for the first ride and then to Peter Pan after that where she experienced little to no wait. This seemed great, but was before they started offering the early morning magic deal, and I'm not sure how many visitors actually participate in that $70 event. I'm thinking I will go ahead and try reserving a FassPass+ for the Seven Dwarf Mine Train, just in case. We wouldn't mind riding it more than once anyways :)

Would you guys suggest Space Mountain over Splash Mountain for a FastPass+? Last year we basically walked onto space mountain, but looking at the Disney app over the summer, it seems like space mountain usually has a much longer wait time. BTMRR unfortunately won't be open during our visit, so that's not an option for us :/ Haunted Mansion is another one that I'm considering. The wait for that ride was considerably long and very hot (though worth the wait!) last year compared to other rides.

Thanks for the help thus far! I'm excited to reserve our FastPass+ in the next couple of days!!

Good thing to consider! We are going to do our best to be out there before the rest of the crowd comes in, but I definitely don't want to completely depend on that.

Sorry to add on a question.. Just seen a you tube video on new fastpass+ booking online, didn't realise it had changed. I plan to book at 60 days, but is it still midnight in USA opening / 5am in England? Thanks
