Help Please!!!

:wave: Hi! I'm new to the crowd. I'm needing some advice. My family and I will be visiting the world in about two weeks. :sohappy: My problem is that we will be at Animal Kingdom on Sept 23rd and we have a dining rez for Planet Hollywood at 6:15. I'm wondering what the quickest route is from AK to PH. After PH we will be going to the MK for the MNSSHP. I'm also wondering how long it will take to get to the MK and the quickest route. One last question I was wondering when you are allowed to enter MK for the party just incase we canceled our dinging rez so we could be at the party on time. Thanks for all of the help!

You'll need to take two buses, first to a resort and then to DTD. There are no direct buses between DTD and the parks.

I'd suggest AK to AKL and then AKL to DTD. Get off at either PI or West Side [they had the PI stops shut down while we were there for ferfurb, don't know when they'll be in use again, they were using West Side instead].

From DTD you'll need two buses or a bus and monorail to get to MK. If you're rushed, I'd say bus to GF and then Monorail to MK

Your ticket for MNSSHP will get you into the MK starting at 4pm even though the party doesn't start until 7pm. You may just want to cancel that reservation.

The fastest way to travel will be by either your own car or by renting a cab. Also, imo I would cancel the rez for an earlier time so you could be at the MK longer. Have a MAGICAL trip.

Here is another vote for cancelling Planet Hollywood. It's not that I don't like the restaurant. It's just that it takes an inordinate amount of time to get from the parks to DtD and vice versa.

On the other hand, getting from AK to MK is a breeze! A single bus ride with no transfers.

DtD is nice, but plan it for a night where it will be the end of your evening.

I would re-schedule the Planet Hollywood ADR, not cancel it. Make it for another night where you can spend the whole evening at DTD...this way there is no rushing involved. That is what we did last year, and had a really great time. Planet Hollywood was our favorite meal of the trip, and we walked around Westside, and the marketplace the rest of the night, shopped, and relaxed. All that traveling from park to park and rushing around is too stressful IMO.

I agree with the others, you're way overbooked for that day. With your current plans, the earliest you would get to MNSSHP is about 9 and a waste of your money on that hard ticket. Do PH another day.

I'm with everyone else. Skip Planet Hollywood. You're looking at several hours wasted for a mediocre meal in a tacky, un-Disney venue.

I did nearly the same thing two years ago and it was a mistake. We ate at PH at 5:30, thinking we'd have time to make it to MK by 7 pm for MNSSHP. Since you have to take a bus to a resort and then to the MK, we hopped a bus to OKW. Well, the bus stops and all of the busses at OKW were packed to capacity with people going to the party.

After waiting 30 min (and watching several busses roll by without stopping 'cos they were full), we took a bus to Epcot and then rode the monorail to the MK. It was nearly 8 pm when we arrived at MNSSHP . I'll never do that again!

Go to the party early. They start letting ticket holders in at 4 pm. Either eat at your resort before you go (large, late breakfast, snack for lunch and an early dinner) or grab a CS meal during the party. You don't want to waste valuable party time eating.

While it's easy to hop and buses and be able to know the system, you have to take time into a fact. Buses can take a lot longer than you think. Especially if you are going to MNSSHP or to DTD for dinner. You might want to think about renting a car for that day if you plan to get everything in. It will save you lots of time and headaches.

I also recommend just skipping Planet Hollywood. You will waste too much time waiting for buses or being in transit. It is not like you will be missing the greatest meal ever or something. Enjoy the MNSSHP :wave:.

Definitely without question cancel at Planet Hollywood!!
This is a perfect opportunity to visit a park (Epcot!!) in the morning..grab early lunch at one of your favorite Countries.
Go back to AKL for a dip in the pool...have a quick service dinner at Mara..
And be primed and ready to kick the heck out for Magic Kingdom at MNSSHP!

You will waste too much time doing this. Your ticket will let you enter MK at 4pm. Leave AK and head straight for MK. I suggest eating a late lunch at AK so that you're not too hungry at MK. You'll get plenty of candy at the party so need to eat a big dinner. You paid your money for the party. If you go to PH figure an hour for dinner then maybe an hour to MK now you're talking arriving at MK around 8:15pm (the earliest) when the party starts at 7pm.

By the way, welcome to the forums! As you can see, people are VERY willing to help, especially when it comes to planning a tour for the day. I hope we're not overwhelming you. I know I found the sheer volume of advice you get a bit daunting when I first joined some time ago. Thank you everyone for all othe the great advice!!!!:animwink: We have decided to cancel Planet Hollywood that night and eat at Tusker House for lunch that day and then go to MK for the MNSSHP and just do counter service at the park that night. So we will be at the park early for the party. I guess if we are going to get PH in during our trip we will try a walk in on our 1st saturday at DTD.

You're not missing much at PH, the food is absolutely terrible:hurl:, my 5 year old wouldn't eat the kids chicken nuggets (how can you mess that up:shrug. The only good thing was my cocktail came w/ a rubber shark in it:lol:. If you have a big late lunch, you should be fine. More room for candy:slurp:. Have a great trip!
