Help PLEASE- are trading PINS allowed in Carry-ons?

We're flying out of Newark airport in the morning and I just thought of something- will Disney trading pins be a problem for security? My kids want theirs with the carry-on as we are doing DME and will be going to MVMCP right after we check-in to our hotel.

So are pins considered a security risk (the Disney wearable kind of course)? I surely don't want to have to give them up and my kids would be crushed also.

Thanks!!

I've never had any problem with them. We had the ones we were going to trade in a small baggie so we wouldn't loose them and no one ever said anything to me.

Not old, just vintage.
I have gone in and out of Newark many times with my pins. Sometimes I check them but I have left them in my carry on before. No one has ever given me a hard time about it.

Every year for the past four years, I've worn visors with the pins on them (a little trick I made up!) right on the airplane. All I've had to do is take them off going through security and having them scanned along with the backpacks and shoes. No problems

A criminal would have to be way too dedicated to be able to create a disturbance of any significance on an aircraft using Disney pins.
