Ok I've been to Florida 4 times and 3 of those times to disney world! I went last june and i really want to go this june after my gcses! As my sister has moved out my mum said i can bring a friend, shes been looking at going back to america and staying at a disney hotel so me and my friend can get the free shuttles to parks and do what we want. But now she saying we can't really afford it  even though I know we can.
Does anyone know how i can persuade her more? As I really wanna go just one last time while im still a child as im 16 now

By the way, at all star resort's do they have the shuttles running all day and does a shuttle go to downtown disney at night?
Also... With a disney ultimate pass for 14 days, will you be able to go to more then one park a day?

The shuttles run until pretty late at night, but I can't remember the exact time. I'm sure they run to Downtown Disney at night just as they run everywhere else, although I don't think any shuttles run directly from the parks to Downtown Disney. And you have to actually purchase the parkhopper option, although, since I have never purchased the Ultimate Pass, I'm unsure as to whether or not parkhopping is included in the price of the Ultimate Pass.

Back to the original topic, someone else had mentioned leaving your friend at home, to which you said that would be boring with just you and your parents.

I guess I have no room to talk, since I wasn't very close to my parents growing up and we didn't do many vacations either, but maybe you should enjoy having just you and your parents on this trip. I know your parents would enjoy spending time with you without feeling like you're ditching them to hang out with your friend. In a few years, you will be getting ready to move out on your own, get busy with college and a career, and then you may never have a chance to go on a vacation with your parents again. Maybe you should enjoy the opportunity when you have the chance.

I know what your trying to say sbkline... I am close with my parents, i just want sometime with my friends on a holiday.. I probably will be with my parents aswell most days. But thats what the last holiday was about when we went to america, because that was my sisters last holiday as a family as she moved out. I have plenty more holidays with my family before i move out and i will make the most of them i just want one holiday with my friend aswell to see what it is like. Because i really don't think ill be able to afford it when im older.

I don't know about your parents, but I know I wouldn't mind bringing a friend when I go to Disneyworld or an amusement park because my parents won't ride anything remotely scary. It's not much fun because I had to ride almost everything by myself. We did enjoy the shows and plenty of other rides but I still like to have someone on those thrill rides!

Also, if you want to save money, you can always go with a regular value resort with 2 beds. I don't know if you're willing to share with your friend, but if you are, this will save you a lot of money. Also, how long are you going for? If it's for 14 days, why don't u think about going for 10 days instead. This can also help with the bill.

Lastly, I agree with everyone else, pitch in with the money! Get a side job for a few months, it will be worth it!

Good luck

You could stay at the All Star Music's family suites. They've got a mini-kitchen kitchen and they sleep... I think 6? Or you could stay in the Fort Wilderness cabins. They're more expensive, but they've also got a full kitchen and sleep several people as well.

I guess times have really changed since I was 16 - for my parents to have even considered bringing a boy with us to stay on a vacation just is amazing to me. My little ones are going to really be in for it when they get to the teenage years :ROFLOL: I agree with the posters about contributing, you have to sacrifice to get what you want most, if not all of the time. I'm sure your parents would love to spend the time with you, Disney is really all about families, and you won't see it the same way when you're older and make trips back. It's so hard to think about responsibilities at 16, i.e. a mortgage, bills, reality in general - but that is what parents think about all the time. You may think that money just flows and flows (and it may for your family) but I think most of us budget and plan very, very dilligently to make the trip to Disney regardless of how close we live to it, and that trip is expensive!!

I'm curious - how do you know that your parents can fork out for the trip? Grown up expenses have to cover a lot more than you may imagine. You too now face such a choice - spend the money on a moped or a holiday. You have enough money, but the call is yours.

Don't worry about running out of being a child and not enjoying Disney later. I had to wait till I was 20 before my first trip. I made my last trip when 37 and would happily go again tomorrow. There is no time limit on when you can visit.

Don't worry about going round the parks on your own - you will have the time to go where you want, when you want at the speed you want.

If you stay off-site you will save money. A number of hotels have free buses to the parks. But they only run a few times a day. Some of these hotels also have free breakfast - more money saved. Staying off-site also means cheaper meals at the end of the day. When on-site you have to pay the inflated Disney prices. Off-site they have real world prices.

As far as the 14 Day pass we can buy in the UK - last I saw it included the ability to hop between parks on the same day.

Maybe your parents are trying to "surprise" you by letting you think you are not going. Also look into vacation Condo off-site. I had one for only $75 a night and it was 3 bedrooms.

I'd like to know where you got this as well. The best I've ever done is a 3 bedroom house about 15 min south of Disney for $99/night during October. (I love having the space and my own pool for such a low rate!!!)
