I always go Poly over any other resort, although I will agree the Christmas atmosphere at the GF is better. However, if you are looking solely for Christmas theming the Wilderness Lodge simply cannot be beat. We just love the laid back vibe at the Poly, the restaurants, the transportation options, pools, Trader Sam's, and dole whips

As between the two you listed, Poly. Of course, I would also say Beach Club over both of them.

Good luck with your choice, and whichever you go with, I hope you and your family have the best time!

I would choose Grand Floridian but only if it were a room in the main building. If I had to be in an outer building I'd rather be at The Polynesian.

I vote for the Poly because of the theming, the pool and the general feel of the resort. It has a more "Disney" feel. My kids enjoyed the time when we stayed there. I asked them if you had to choose GF or Poly which would they choose and they went with the Poly.

Got to go with the Poly on this one. The GF is a little too foofy for my liking. It's fine to visit and I have contemplated staying for just a single night. But for me personally, it's a little too fancy and stuffy to stay at for an entire vacation.

I thought the same thing and I am Hawaii, beach type person and Love the Poly, but we stayed at GF in May for my wife bday and fell in love, it does not feel that way when you are staying there

Stay at both. If it works out $$-wise, a few days in one and a few days in the other...I find split stays to be pretty easy. Not for everyone, but a good way to experience different resorts on the same trip.

Polynesian without question. It's a completely different vibe than any other Disney resort. The greenery, the tiki torches, the smells, the music, the Dole whips and a straight on shot of the castle across the Seven Seas Lagoon. You can walk to GF and the TTC. It's a beautiful and relaxing resort.

Grand Floridian, if the costs were the same. Mainly, I'm not a fan of the room and hallway decor at the Polynesian. Feels too 70's to me. Grand Floridian feels more open and bright. If I many throw in one other suggestion, it would be the Contemporary. You can walk to MK and still take a monorail to Epcot.

The walk from the contemporary is the only plus in my opinion, the pool , the atmosphere and the vibe just are not the same as Poly and GF

Agree. I just don't the interior decor of the actual hotel. I do like the entry and through grounds, though.
