Help -- Leaving Tomorrow

I would also suggest you do rent the car. To get to a resort other than the one you're staying at you'll have to first take a bus to one of the parks or Downtown Disney, then transfer to the bus that goes to the resort where you're dining. To avoid this, which could be a 45 minute one-way trip, I'd get the car - you'll have the freedom and flexibility to enjoy that extra 45 minutes in the park instead of using the time sitting on a couple buses.

The family and I have stayed at all three AS, and they are a problem sometimes, except fpr one, Sports, the bus picks up there first in the morning, then first in the evening. So it can still be alittle crowded but not when you get on at the resort. Hope this helps.

Then there is that third option. Try the busses, and for the nights you are eating out or the little one gets cranky, grab a cab. It may be $10 - $12 dollars including tip and no walk to/from the car. That's about twelve rides (for $150) and you don't have to spend time picking up and dropping off the rental car.
That's my take.

Rather than going back to the hotel before dinner, having to take a bus back to a park, then to the resort at which you will dine, it may be a better idea to stay in the park and then go straight to the resort...

Although, that doesn't solve the problem of getting back to your resort after dinner, unless you want to return to a park for one of the nighttime spectaculars...

Enjoy your trip...

Save your money and just build in travel time for the buses. You do have to share buses with the other All-Stars but it's not that bad.

Have a great trip!!

Take the bus

Take the bus. Leave the driving to WDW. What is parking per day now at the park $10 PER DAY. We stayed at Coranado Springs last year and our rental car just stayed in the lot the whole week. I felt like we really wasted our money last year.
So this year we decided to skip the rental and take the buses all week.

Part of the fun of going to WDW (to me at least) is not having to worry about ANYTHING other than running around the parks and having a good time. Busses all the way!

Thanks all. I'm here now on Day 4

I did rent, which has allowed us the flexibility to do what we want, when we want.

When going to the parks in the Morning we take the buses. But for our resort/Epcot dining, we have used the car.

On Fri night we ate at Chef Mickeys and caught the MR to MK. Last night we parked at the Yacht Club (told them we had res at the Galley) and walked to the World Showcase entrance for dinner at Marrakesh and fireworks. It allowed for an easy and painless exit after the fireworks. Also driving to Jiko at the AK lodge was great. Doing Hoop-Dee tomorrow and it will be nice to be able to just drive to the campground.

The buses really have been great. I haven't waited more than 10 minutes. I have heard complaints about horrible waits after the MK and Epcot fireworks which I have been able to avoid thanks to the car.

I may use $10-20 in gas and parking is free everywhere if you are a guest of the resorts. Well worth the money IMO!
