Hi need your help!

I am new to this forum and Me and my family are going on our first trip to Walt Disney World - Florida on the 14th April this year.
We have booked for 2 weeks staying at the Wilderness Lodge on site.
My children are 5 and 3.
We are travelling from the UK.
My questions are: What is the weather like in April?
Is this date in April busy?
What parks are busy on which days?
How do you book character meals?
And any other tips for us 1st timers, because I am beginning to get quite scared.
Oh and another thing someone told me that this part of florida has the highest abduction rate in the world! Is this true or what?

HOPE YOU CAN ALL HELP ME AND MY FAMILY HAVE THE TRIP OF A LIFETIME!

We've experienced cloudy mid 70's to very hot low 90's over the Easter periods

Is this date in April busy?
You arrive on Good Friday ?? WDW will be extremely busy this weekend - Most Brits will be half way through their two week Easter Holiday and most Americans will be there over that weekend - trust me, it will get much quieter as that first week progresses

What parks are busy on which days?
Check out This Link

How do you book character meals?
Pick up the phone now (you'll find the phone numbers in The Unofficial Guide) if you want anything specifically and on a particular date - or wait until you arrive and book through the front desk at your resort hotel

And any other tips for us 1st timers, because I am beginning to get quite scared.
Buy a copy of The Unofficial Guide To Walt Disney World (In Waterstones and most good book shops) - read it all BEFORE you go - it will help with planning which rides to do, which shows to see, etc etc. It is one of the best books out there and TOTALLY independant and unbiased. Don't be scared - we've all been to Disney for that "first time" and enjoyed it (we wouldn't go back otherwise)

Oh and another thing someone told me that this part of florida has the highest abduction rate in the world! Is this true or what?
Well we've been 4 times and nobody has taken the kids yet - we're going again in August and live in hope

Have a great time

Sounds like Hook covered everything!

or wait until you arrive and book through the front desk at your resort hotel

But I would not recommend waiting til you got to WDW to book any meals. Book as many as you can so that you have something lined up. We booked all meal times that we needed to and upon arrival checked to see about one or two places that we could not get before and if they were available reserved those and cancelled the other, etc.

Have fun! and I have never heard the abduction thing, but will keep my eyes open!:lookaroun

DEFINITELY make meal reservations ASAP. During Easter Week, the parks will be unreal, and if you don't have reservations, you may find yourself waiting on interminable lines just to get a hamburger or pizza.

If you go to allearsnet.com, you can find a list of menus and prices. It might help you figure out where you'd like to eat, and how you'd like to schedule your day.

Hopefully, the crowds will decrease as your vacation progresses.
