HELP?! cheapest way to do disney??

Ok so my parents said we can go to Disney, only if its really cheap. I want my friend to come but she'd have to pay herself. She has a limit of $160 to spend. My parents will be paying for the room, so I need help from you guys getting airfare and tickets for $160 or less. [5 or 6 day park ticket]

I don't think that's really possible... even if you buy a 4-day ticket and get the 5th free from mapleleaftickets.com, it would be $210. And that's just a base ticket, no park hopping or water parks =\

I wish you luck, but honestly, a 5 day base ticket that could get your friend into the four main parks, with no access to Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon or Pleasure Island and NO park-hopping, is $219.39 tax included. You might find some cheaper prices for tickets, but only for a couple of bucks, maybe 10 dollars cheaper. And you haven't yet included airfare (BTW, it'd be impossible to tell you how much airfare could be without knowing where you live. We don't need an address, just any airports close to you). If you have access to an airport that has Jetblue, they tend to have some of the most affordable air fares.

You might want to persuade your parents to call someone like Kingdom Konsultants (who post here) or the travel agents at AAA, who might be able to put together a comprehensive and afforable package price, where your friend could give your parents the 160 up front and maybe some more money every week until it's time to go. But even still, I wouldn't get your hopes up on getting park tickets AND airfare for 160. Your friend might need to raise some extra money somewhere. Sorry.

:wave: Not possible. that wont even cover park tickets. Disney is NOT cheap! You need to save some more money somehow. I sure hope you all get to go, though. It is well worth it, as we all know!!:sohappy:

Air fare and 5 day tickets for only $160 is not possible. Tickets alone will be more than $160 let alone air fare.

Tickets, food and airfare for $160.....sorry, but I do not think you will be able to do that. If you have more specifics on the trip we could help price things out.

If you are staying on site your cheapest stay would be at a Value Resort in the Value season time frame. (When do you think you will go?)

Tickets are expensive for a day or two so you would be better off getting at least a 4 day base ticket ($215.13)

Airfare - sorry I have never flown before and I do not know the costs.

Food - You need to anticipate at least $25/day for one person and that is if you get just counter service type foods.

You need to do a little fundraising to get what you need for your friend. Also you need to look out for discounts on packages if you stay on site so that you can save some money that way.

While everyone above is correct in saying that it can't be done for $160, if you post where you're flying from, the amount your parents are willing to spend, and the amount of days you want to visit the parks, everyone here will do their best to give you all the information you need to get the cheapest of everything available :~) :wave:

If you hope to get a plane ticket for $200, and the tickets for $220, the cheapest your friend could go for is about $400, and that's if your parents pick up the tab at meal times.

Ask your friend if her parents would ever consider a Disney Pass or plane ticket as a Christmas or Birthday Present. If they will, then she'll only be about $50 away from her goal of $160.

The Semaj kid is a 9 yr old,he claimed to be the child of an adult passenger the boy's information matched that of a paid,ticketless reservation for the flight and he was issued a boarding pass. The boy claimed he was 12 so with Southwest if you're 12 or older you cannot be listed as an unaccompanied minor.And because he was so young he wasn't required to provide identification to board a flight. The kid also stole a car and led police on a high speed chase. This just shows you anyone can get on a flight if they want.

Well, I wish you luck. There are a lot of ways to raise funds. If you really want to save $$ your friend could skip drinks and go with water at meals out and keep that savings for disney. Movies: get popcorn OR candy OR a drink not two or all 3. Little things like that throughout the week really add up. Then when you get to disney you can pack things with you to help save $$. Those little filters for bottled water..or just ask for free icewater (you can bring in those little mixes to add to the water lemonade/koolaide etc if you just don't like water), bring snacks for breakfast, go back to the room for sandwiches and buy just one meal a day. Also, buy the resort mugs for your drinks..that will get your soda/coffee fix covered for a one time fee! You will find many tips like that on the boards. If you really want to go and are on a really tight budget it can be done. A cheap day at disney is better than not being at disney at all!

Im going in May and its costing 1250 with airfare/room at pop century/parkhopper tickets minus water parks for 7 days , 6 nights for 1 person. disney isn't cheap. $160 won't last one day there. yougotta really save up for it

2 years ago my nephews, ages 9-13 at the time, collected close to $2000.00 between them in 6 months. They collected bottle returns from family and friends, mowed lawns, shoveled driveways, etc.. The result?? A family trip to Disneyworld December 2005.. They used their money for airfare, park tickets, and soveniers. Currently they are saving for their next trip!!!

we will be leaving in 2 weeks for our first family trip to disney. we planned this trip at tax time on purpose, without our tax refund we wouldn't be able to go. we took out a loan from the bank of mother in law in order to go. we have to pay her back when taxes arrive. but, i really do like the fact of children saving their money to go also. it is suprising the kids as young as my oldest, 6 gets the concept that disney costs a lot of money. him and his little sister have been working for 6 months or better on their penny bank at their grandparents house. there has to be at least $200 in there, so that is all of their spending money plus any other gifts they receive from other family. they have worked their tails off for that money and have not even thought about spending it on candy or toys at the local stores. they collect change out of my dryer everytime i do laundry and take it to maw maw's to put it in their bank. i think this is a great idea for kids to help pay for the trip if the family isn't financially able, teaches them responsibility!!!

Yes, my girls earn their own trip money or use money that was gifted to them at birthdays, holidays etc. It is amazing how they will rethink purchases when it is coming out of their purse! LOL. daughter wanted a PoC hoodie but it was $52. She opted for the Disney Crocs. She had money for both but decided that with the hood down you couldn't see the really cool image of J.Depp on the back anyway.

Sorry to break it to you, but Disney is never really cheap. It would be difficult to get airfare alone for $160 never mind tickets/food/souvenirs. Sorry but I think your friend will need to really save up or get some money from her parents if she wants to go with you.

Meet a CM and get them to give you free tickets :lol:

As for airfare, Southwest can be pretty decent with their prices. But the $160 will probably get used up by most of that.

As for cheap airfare - do you know anyone who works for an airline? My husband does, so we fly for free (totally worth marrying him). But he can purchase "buddy passes" for friends. The down side is you have to fly stand-by, but we've been doing it for years and I don't think it's that bad. A round trip buddy pass from Charlotte to Orlando is $50. Something to consider.
