Clueless on US holiday periods so wondering if the insane wait times for certain things currently (FOP has been 305) is due to a holiday of some description?
We arrive next week on the 20th and hoping it’s died down a bit!? 🤷‍♂️👀

No major US holidays at the moment (though Columbus Day did recently pass). FOP is still new enough that most visitors haven't seen it before, so the ride will have long lines for a bit.

Food and Wine festival is going on plus Columbus Day was on Monday, so federal employees + bank employees had along weekend. Also, Canadian thanksgiving was last week, so a few extra visitors from the north came.

Beyond that though, nothing going on until November when American Thanksgiving happens.

What's happening is the normal "take a Friday/Monday off and go to Orlando for the weekend" deal that a lot of Floridians with annual passes do. Also, it's 3pm, so annual passholders that took off early from work should be arriving now.

Jersey Week, due to the NJEA Teacher's Convention on Nov 8-9 will see a surge in visitors from NJ - many schools close, so there is usually a peak in crowds through Veteran's Day on the 12th.

October 31st is Halloween. Basically, it is a dress up for old Hallow Eve Kids usually get in costume spooky to silly and go door to door for Candy. The Latin based residence celebrate the day of the dead on Nov 1st. For Disney, they have the add on Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party. The parks have an extra ticked event to "Trick or Treat" in costume around the lands to candy stations. This is all month of October. The Haunted Mansion has a "Nightmare before Christmas" overlay. After Halloween, they change up to the Christmas like Holidays of fake snow on the castle. Thanksgiving is in November. During the November and December time frame there is an extra ticket event for a holiday party. Currently the Parks have a harvest theme with Carved pumpkin decorations.

FoP is a poor barometer. There’s no way to know how many theatres are running.

Better to take a cross section of all parks. Ds and Es.

Only U.S. Holidays that appear on our calendar are Oct. 8 (passed) Columbus Day, Oct. 13 Navy Day (Founding) and Oct. 31 Halloween. You should not encounter holiday-related crowds.
We are there for Halloween so expect it busy around then but prior to that I’m hoping there’s nothing crazy going on :)

I did, that just stood out for obvious reasons, all seemed pretty manic but if it’s fall breaks tailing off that’ll be why...
