height question - asking for a friend

Carey Poppins - Nanny and Disney Enthusiest
Hi all,

I don't have little ones so although I help my friends take their kids, they are usually taking infants/toddlers (under 4) so I have not had to research this much.

What is the average height requirement from rides? I know that he will be fine for the family/kid rides but looking at Test Track and things like that? He is 39 inches tall. They are thinking of taking him this fall.

Thanks!

also wdwmagic has a list of the height requirements, as well as allears.net, and a variety of guide books, including the park maps :) hope this helps :)

DD5 had just hit 40" for her 5th bday trip. As a result...we were able to do BTMRR, Splash, Soarin', Star Tours, and Test Track. Dinosaur and ToT were also options, but she was too scared. Stitch was also an option and also no desire...although, DH is a big Stitch fan, so we may try next trip.

Ok goodness! I can't even recall the last time I saw this! Hilarious!!!! Thanks for the info - just need to make sure that he would be close if not there to the rides. I'm sure he will be 40" + by the time he goes. :)

Also, I can't get the link to work. I tried adding an "l" to html as well and still can't get it to work.

That's strange - it works for me. To go directly there - there is a dropdown at the top of this page for "Info" - click there and then click on "Trip Planning". A few sections down on the page is the link for Height and Age Restrictions.

RnRC is also 48''. The lowest height is 40'' for BTMRR and others.
There are some others beyond Kali that is below 40". Speedway is 32" as a passenger and 54" to drive. You can no longer ride the chairlift at Blizzard unless you 32" because too many tiny kids squirmed up there. Actually the water parks have many high height requirements many because you need stronger swimming skills.

Also be ready for Disney to adjust the height requirements. Splash actually lowered its requirement down to 40" after several years and prior to lapbars. Disney also uses the age of 3 for rides that are more stressful for those under that age. At 3 you must purchase a ticket for your child so it gives CM's the ability to check if children are indeed 3 years old.

They can be sticklers on the height requirements too. Our son was just about .25 inch below 40" on one trip, and since the attendant checking height could stick his fingers between his head and the top of the measuring device, they wouldn't let him ride. Needless to say, he was disappointed... but the next day, he wore sneakers that had a slightly higher heel, and that noticeable gap during measuring was not there, and he got to ride!
