Height balloons testing at WDW

Probably right.

Hopefully it isn't visible from Epcot like the Swan and Dolphin.

But, why would they try to squeeze it in there? There's a large expansion area available next to Jamaica across from Trinidad

I don't know CBR very well and the conversation about this was a while ago but the plan was to remove one or two of the existing areas, I believe Aruba and Barbados since they were closest to the connection to Epcot that would go in but I guess we just have to wait and see.

Why angry? I don't know if that is what they are for but there are plans for it. Also connecting the water way to Epcot from CBR but I don't think they need balloons for that because they said they were going under the roadway. The plan was for bigger buildings at CBR for the DVC so that would make sense if that is where they are.
I haven't got a problem with it, but it just seems that whenever DVC does anything people make bitter posts in response.

There's no way those balloons are at typhoon lagoon if that's where the picture was taken. More likely in those trees between Aruba and Barbados at CBR.

It's in the right direction and distances can be distorted in photos. I doubt it would be for a CBR expansion since that would go in the open plot of land in the south park of the resort.

While that's true, I think in this case they'd have to be ridiculously high to be that far away.. like hundreds of feet high. Way too high to be a raft ride in such a small footprint.

I wonder if they would 'relocate' some of those buildings to the expansion pad in the south part of the resort if they repurpose that area for new DVC buildings.

I think it was take from here. You can see the curb that splits the exit to factory way, and the left turn lane.

This was the spot. It was definitely not CBR. It was somewhere towards Typhoon and Springs from what I could tell, but it seemed very spread out and almost too high to be a family raft ride. As some have said, perception while driving can skew things so I could be wrong on the separation of the balloons and the height.

It could be the new Typhoon Lagoon ride...

Yep. All the way from TL to Epcot and back again. That's gonna be an awesome ride!!! :)

That was part of the plans many years ago but they couldn't figure out the storage of propane for ROE and it's proximity to guests because this would go directly next to it.

Maybe because there are already too many. More and more guests rooms mean more and more people flooding property, yet the size of the parks roughly stay the same. This equals extreme over crowding at the parks.

Well if DVC did things with the same attention to detail that they followed in their early projects most of us would not complain, Since they do NOT and are constantly raising MF's for a degraded experience... Well it's not hard to figure what comes next.

Admittedly, I have no actual confirmation as to what these balloons are for, so this is probably next-to-worthless information. However, I have heard rumors of something possibly coming to that area in the somewhat distant future. Something not definite but something they're at least considering. It's possible these balloons are related to that.

The Op has already said that the balloons where not at CBR.

Out of the box a bit here, but might this be fireworks/night show related? As they're very high, could it be playing around with including drones in Illuminations? I know they have to be pretty far away from crowds, but close enough to be able to be seen from Epcot, which might fit that location.
