having a hard time convincing the family to switch it up.

I am thinking of planning a trip this fall including a 3 night cruise and two night resort stay with mnsshp tickets. Since the resort part will be so short, I think it will be the perfect time to try a new resort. Hubby and kiddos not so much. They consider Riverside "home".
Some questions for you:
1. Do you have a "home" resort, and if yes have you ventured out to try a new place?

2. If my family loves Riverside, but does decide to let me switch it up, should I play it safe by choosing FQ, or change it up completely?

We try to switch it up on occasion and a short trip is the best time to test the waters. Like your family, Riverside is like a second home to us. FQ is a good safe choice. It is slightly different that RS, but not so much as to cause shock. They also have beniegets in the food court and that is a big plus.

I would have to say its a toss up between WLV and AKV's as our 'home resorts.' That being said we do like to try new places every now and then. Though its always a tough call at times because you love that home, and you can't imagine going somewhere else and you may find yourself comparing it but I think exploring a new place is an excellent idea when its not that long of a stay, you may find yourself-or your family may find-that you have two 'homes' to visit.

Kids are easy. They go where they're taken. There is no, "Will they let me..." when it comes to them. Husbands are different, lol. You have to work with them. Would he agree to flip a coin on the issue of who gets to pick the hotel? Or is he digging in on this issue?

I love the "flip a coin" option. You get what you want about half the time and so do they. No hard feelings.

If I were picking, I'd go somewhere new, like CBR. I can only stand about two days in the rooms at CBR, but love the place itself, so it sounds perfect for that. They do a limbo in the food court and they sometimes make s'mores on the beach.

Good luck!

If you're only staying on property for a couple of nights, you might as well do a monorail resort. I once treated the wife to a anniversary MK stay at DCR before a 7 night cruise. It was really nice and very convenient. If you're planning to do MNSSHP, it'll be a much more pleasant trip back to the room after "partying" into the wee hours instead of a long slog back to POR by bus or car.
