Hey everyone, we havent been on our first trip yet as members but I was just wondering if you get any type of package like you do when you book through Disney itself?

What package are you talking about. You do not get deals with tickets or can use any discounts you see in tv/emails but we get a huge discount on annual passes and the meal plan. The annual passes are usually 620 or more I cant remember the exact price but we get the for 425. Other than that we do not get any packages since we already save money on the hotel and get discounts on food and passes

I wonder if the OP is talking about the mail they send but I could be wrong.

As you pointed out though if you are a DVC member there are no booking savings because as Disney sees it by being a DVC member you are already saving. Plus they already have your money for the next 50 years so why try to get you to come.

We are new members, as well. We joined in April and booked a trip last June. We didn't receive anything from Disney prior to our trip. I must say that it was such a great feeling checking in to our hotel as DVC members, such a different feeling than staying as a cash guest. Welcome Home!

You should get a confimation letter in the mail right after you book. If you arranged for DME, you get the normal DME package at the normal time (a week or so before your trip)

Other than that, no, there are no "packages"

sorry to be unclear, I was actually asking about the package you receive before you check in as a cash guest,(with the DME stuff and that) I understand we aren't entitled to any discounts as far as rooms and free dining and we bought AP's at the fl resident rate figuring we'll spend a little more this trip (Dec.)but save on our oct. trip.

Dave- Thank you! thats actually what I was wondering about. Wasn't sure if you get that paperwork before you land at MCO or straighten it out when you get down there. But we didnt receive a confirmation letter either, should I call and see why not or just leave it alone?

thanks for the help:)

Dvc members get a nice discount on the meal plan as well as annual passes. It is 53.00 a day for dvc members for the meal plan but it is much higher for normal wdw guests. We love the meal plan and it is defineatly worth it for us.

I didn't know we get a dining plan discount. I just thought we would use the TIW card when we go next year. Plus, I thought we only get a $100 discount off of the AP. I'm a new DVC member (less than a week, hehe) so some things are fuzzy.

Yea we each get around 250ish off each pass I think...it may be a little less I can't remember the correct amount but it's more than 100

The discount off the annual pass is $150.00 and the AP discount for TIWL is $75.00 for the card. $100.00 if using DVC rate.

If you did not receive a confirmation letter, I would go on the member website and check to see if your reservation is there. If it is, then all should be good. If it is not, well then you have a problem.

You get a letter whenever your reservation changes. For example if you booked at SSR and waitlisted at VWL, you should get a SSR confirmation letter. Then if your wait list comes through a month later, you should get another letter canceling your SSR reservation and showing your VWL one.

Sometimes mail does get lost. It is not as if you need that letter to check in or anything.

Thanks Dave, I called DVC and asked them about my reservations . The lady looked it up and we are booked for some reason we just never received the email or letter in the mail. She sent the email over again to us and said we should expect the paper copy in 7-10 days.

Thanks again for the help

Our last confirmation came via email. Never got a paper copy. We also never got our express checkout envelope when we left. When we went down to check on it, we were told they send it to your email.

It may be because we are DVC members and we have acces to our reservations online...I know for a fact the trip we booked for this October we only received an email of our booking.
