Have you unexpectedly seen someone in WDW?

My sister and my family (and I guess me, too) saw her chemistry teacher (who eventually became my chemistry teacher 12 years later) in 1993 in Disney World. And then we also saw them on the plane coming back from Disney.

We always meet someone we know while on vacation. My mom say's its not a vacation unless we do so! (Then again, we used to travel during Jersey week, when all of Jersey is down there, so it's bound to happen).

I guess the weirdest "run in" was in January. My friend and I had gone down for a week, and we were walking through the MK on our first night. We had gotten caught in a bottleneck area near BTMRR, and were walking real slow. My friend is about 6 ft tall, and can be loud at times, and we were talking and such when the group in front of us suddenly stopped. I almost tripped over them and tried to go through, when someone said my name. It turned out to be a friend of mine, with her husband and mother. I live in NJ, and she lives in Idaho. I had been in her wedding a few years earlier, but hadn't seen her since they moved (the day after the wedding). They were there visiting her parents, and finishing their honeymoon. (There had been a hurricane that closed the parks on their acutal honeymoon). We spent the rest of the night with them, and then suprisingly, met them the next day in Epcot too. It was a lot of fun to see them, esp. in WDW!

One time we were sitting in a booth at Beaches & Cream and could hear the conversation in the booth behind us. The girl had an obvious RI accent, so DH casually looked over the divider and saw one of his students there with her family. She literally screamed when when she saw him (she's probably in therapy now!)

Yeah, in like 2nd grade my parents took two of my friend, my brother, his friend, and myself up to WDW and at our hotel lobby we saw our art teacher. lol

Saw Celine Dion getting off RnRc the same time as us.

Every once in a while I bump into people I know.

Well, if there is one thing this thread has taught us it is that we REALLY need to talk to our families a bit more often:hammer:  .

But to answer the question, it happens to me ALL THE TIME. But living in South Florida, there is more of an opportunity to head up for the weekend, so of course you run into people you know.

Oh yes,

May 1990. I was there with my girlfriend and her family. My girlfriend and I were at Typhoon Lagoon, and I had just went down the Humunga Cowabunga. I get to the bottom, and hear someone yelling "Tom!" "Tom!"

I ignore the calling since I am on vacation, and my girlfriend had yet to go down the slide. Well the next second I am being hugged by ex-girlfriend!!!

As time always has a way mixing things for the worst possible outcome when ex's are involved, my current girlfriend gets off the slide, and see's me (just in my trunks) and my ex (in a bikini) hugging!

Even though I did not initiate the hug, nor did I even know that the ex would be in Disney my girlfriend was quite cranky for the next day or two.

So yes, I have seen someone I know in Disney..........Thanks for bringing that up!
