Amy, please be careful with this. There have been quite a few reports of outbreaks of pertussis (whooping cough) in schools here in MA, which was brought about by unvaccinated kids catching it. It is highly contagious. I know you didn't say you were considering not giving Jack his shots, but please think about having them when the doctor recommends them. They are pretty "spread out" as it is. And as a parent of a school age child now, the thought of unvaccinated kids (or kids who have had shots but not on the recommended schedule) bringing these life-threatening illnesses around MY kids, is very maddening. :mad:

Amy..I agree with Kristin here...as long as what Jenny said earlier applies to you and your family then there is no reason to not get his vaccinations when they are needed...because it does affect other children.

I understand that people have different views on them whether for personal or religious or whatever reason and that is fine..but unless there is a medical reason then I think he should get his shots as required..

This is my own personal opinion though and you should do what you feel is best.
