Have you ever gone to Disney World long distance without going on a plane or car?

We have traveled from Philadelphia to Disney World twice on Amtrak, and have also done a trip from Philly to Disneyland on Amtrak.

My family and I always take the auto train. We get a family sleeper and for us it cost the same as flying. This way we have our own our car (we don't like the buses at Disney) and our own stroller. We also don't have to worry about buying too much stuff and paying extra baggage fees at airport on the way home.

Last October we rode Megabus from Chattanooga, TN to Disney World, with the last leg being on an Orlando Lynx bus.
Certainly not the most comfortable way to travel, since it was 9+ hours in a bus but it was less than $50 per person, round trip.

Rode the train round trip once. Never again. Too uncomfortable in general and the return trip was plagued with delays that turned a 12-hour trip to a 16-hour hell on Earth.

Did Amtrak from Poughkeepsie, NY to Orlando back in 2002. Will never do that again. It's not much cheaper and I'd rather save the time and fly than save a little bit of money on the train or even driving. I just don't have the patience for it.

I once took a bus from North Carolina. I didn't think it was a hassle at all. But I was still young and flexible back then, and as a foreigner everything was an attraction by default. I wasn't close to being bored by the view even after ten hours. Loved it! :)

I once looked into taking the auto train. It was far more expensive than flying. I was shocked by how expensive it was, especially if you do not want to just be sitting in a seat the whole time.
