Have any storms stopped you from going to Disney World?

We thought we were not going to make it to WDW mid August last year. Hurricane Irene was moving up the coast and we were really worried our flight would get cancelled. We flew out of Rochester, NY, no problem and arrived safely in Orlando. The next day the storm continued straight up the coast and caused some severe weather back home. Funny how those things happen.
Weather is very unpredictable these days, even w/ all of the modern technology!;) Glad you were able to go!:D

I remember that weird snow storm! It was the only "snow day" we had! What a crazy winter w/ no snow here in eastern panhandle of WV.
Extra 2 days! Yay!:D
We just got our power back yesterday from last Friday's storm. I talked to a young guy on the Pepco crew who lives in Martinsburg and is based in Frederick. He said he's been working 16 hour days.

I'm so glad that you got your power back!:) Did you have to "throw out" any of your food? Oh my! Those PEPCO guys do work hard, and they get so so so much flack from the media- especially Fox 5:( I wonder how WDW handles these situations? I know they had crews from FL come to help. Thanks for the update.:D

Thanks!

I would never criticize PEPCO's work crews. PEPCO seems to be slower restoring power after storms than BGE and Dominion, but if so it's a management issue and not anything to do with their workers. And some of it is unavoidable where you have neighborhoods like ours with lots of large old trees, unless people are willing to spend billions to bury all of the lines.

We had to throw away quite a bit of food. Somehow our freezer had thawed out after just 2 days.
