Cool Haunted Mnasion info.... I love that ride and have read many internet "history" sites on what the "real story is". It is all great entertainment.

Anyone know where all the Jacks are? I found one on the floor of the attic, he's on the cover of a book under the photos of the bride's husbands on left side of the doombuggy. You need to look over the car to find it. I actually have a picture of it some where if I find it I'll post it. Was never able to find him anywhere else.

I'd be interested to see this photo. We were told there was one in on the bookcase/shelf on the right hand side close to the exit of the attic. I *think* we have seen his stripy leg, but could be mistaken!

HM is the only attraction that is at all 4 Magic Kingdoms, but is in a different land in each park. (Disney Land- N.O. Square), (WDW- Liberty square), (Tokyo- Fantasy Land),
(Paris- Frontierland). - I learned this on a Disney trivia app.

Also, one of the candle chandeliers as you exit forms a hidden mickey on the ceiling, the others do not. These are located just prior to reaching the tomb of the dead wives at the exit.

Also...

Also, the voice of the "Ghost Host" is Paul Frees. He did a lot of work for Disney--voicing, among others, Professor Ludwig Von Drake. He also was the voice of Boris Badinoff from the Rocky and Bullwinkle show.

In the stretching portrait room, that's Paul Frees (as seen by Marc Davis) in the bowler hat.

Hidden Jack

If I remember correctly, there's a hidden Jack in the first room. As the portrait becomes fully skeletonized, a Jack shows up between his eyes. There are two in the Library, but you have to have the lights on to see them. (Now I'm really stretching the memory) I believe there's one on the binding to Madame Leota's book, and in the attic, there's a hidden Sally.

That's not really a "hidden" hallway, but it isn't generally open to Guests. If you have a front-of-the-line pass, sometimes the Guests will be shown through there from the exit walkway.
And if a Guests' child gets scared by the foyer and doesn't want to go through the Stretching Room, that hallway is how the CMs show people out.

Here's a little-known fact: before the 2007 refurbishment, the portrait in the foyer (Master Gracey) was a slideshow screening with six slides, but after the refurbishment it turned to a projection screening.

Not sure if this is fact or fiction, it's so old I'm not sure of anyone who's actually seen it.
We all remember the glowing spider scene from before the major refurb, well when the mansion first opened, there was a dummy man's body tangled in the spider's web. Screams and calls for help could be heard when the doom buggy passed by him. After an extremely short time, so many complaints were made about the scene being too grim and frightening, that the body was removed immediately. They say the body is still kept somewhere under the tracks though. I have researched, but never found a picture of it.

Another secret I know is fact
Again when the mansion first opened, the suit of armor (now displayed as only prop) actually contained a person who would scare the guests in the doom buggies. Soon guests became too frightened and even began to hit and defend themselves against the suit, causing the cast member inside to turn off the ride, complain, and ruin the illusion. Needless to say, this was stopped!

There are 7 in total. The easiest one to spot is in the portrait before the stretch room. An image of Jack can be seen above his eye. There is a jack drawn on the floor near the doom buggy laying next to the "hidden donald" chair. There is another one on the book in the first scene on your right in the "dowry scene". There are also a sally and a jack doll in those scenes as well. The jack is in the last scene and almost impossible to see without a flashlight. I can't remember where the other 2 are. I was shown them all on a CM only backstage tour of HM that I took a few weeks ago. =)

I have a question for Haunted Mansion buffs...it's about the rumors swirling around the proposed Guillermo Del Toro Haunted Mansion movie.

I can't remember where I read this, but it might have been on MiceChat when they interviewed a HM cast member in Disneyland. She said that the movie Del Toro would be making involved doors that would lead from the Haunted Mansion in Florida to the one in California and that would be part of the movie. I assume these doors would be magic portals in the mansion and that they would be the doors in the long hallway near the beginning of the HM ride.

Has anyone else heard this?

If so, I don't understand if the movie is going to be about the real life Mansion...and I guess be set in the Disney parks and be about the real life attractions being haunted or what.

Anyone who has more clues to this please share as to me it's a big, well-kept secret and i don't know if the movie is even going to be made.
