FYI...

The CM announced on saturday 5/1 that the Haunted Mansion movie set at MGM was closed after that day.

Guys please tell my you caught the sarcasm there. Didn't you?

This was the biggest waste of space at MGM. It would've been better if they had just let you walk through and that would be it. Instead you had to wait 15 minutes to see a corny film along with it.

I agree, they should have had the video on a loop, and jsut let you walk in and out at your own personal leisure.

I only saw it because I thought I was getting in line for One Man's dream.

Why don't they load in some Pirates set stuff. That would certainly be popular. And even if the Haunted Mansion sets aren't the most amazing attraction, why close it. It's not like it's a heavily staffed attraction... gets some people out of the flow of the rest of the park...

No, Pirates Sets were never on Display at any Theme Park, except perhaps Disneyland for the World Premiere. I hope they use that space wisely, it alot of room (well, not a ton, but certanily enough to host an attracation the size of Snow White, or another meet & Greet, possibly where they move Ariel's Grotto if the 20k location closes. Just an idea. It'll be interesting to see what goes in this spot. (A HUGE Passholder Lounge!!:D )

I think it owuld have been nice to let us walk around in it alone as well. But then maybe every 10 or so minutes the lights would go out trying to scare someone and the video could start playing

There was a rather extensive display for Pirates of the Caribbean (movie and ride) at the Disney Gallery in New Orleans Square of Disneyland during the first half of 2003--had props from the movie--very neat exhibit :)

Personally I like seeing the sets of the movie but the whole thing was pretty boring. I agree with everyone else I would have like to have just walk through and come and go as you pleased. Plus you couldn't even take any pictures or video of the sets.

I was actually walking by the entrance when the CM was shouting "This is the last show! After this show it will be closed forever, so don't miss it!". I hadn't seen it, and I didn't want to given what I had heard about it. I will never know the badness that was this set/walkthrough/show. :)
