Tokyo's Haunted Mansion is largely the same as Florida's, though it's located between their Fantasyland and Critter Country and the approach angles are very different.

Phantom Manor is by far the most divergent variant of the Mansion series, as it has an actual plot and a Western motif.

I prefer the abandoned and creepy feel. It doesn't really make sense for the outside to be pristine--who's fixing it up?

I would assume the terrified caretaker from the graveyard scene.

I was there Oct 15-22 and for the first part of my visit, the scrim covered only part of the exterior (the lower windows) and work was being done on the interactive queue area. Later in the week the scrim was partially removed and the interactive queue was up and working again.

I was there last Thursday-Saturday, and the scrim visible in this photo was there when I was there, yes.

I don't mind the queue but really wish Disney would add more shade for folks in line - especially for the kids that get quickly overheated. If my daughter's struggling public school can afford to buy tarps for the kids on the playground, I'm sure Disney can find some money lying around for the same.

Isn't nearly the entire queue in shade? In fact, I think people went nuts when they added the covered queue along the river.

What a bummer that folks went nuts about shade along the river. It just gets so hot in the park. I would love it if the next Disney park in the U.S. was a series of connected domes where the entire environment could be controlled. Kinda like Truman Show movie. Wouldn't it be great to have a themed land that was always night time?!

84 degrees on halloween today and the 4pm sun was right on top of us in the haunted mansion queue. The shade portion of the extended queue seemed to be mostly missing

You are correct! I try to keep my visits during the winter =)
