This forum is very amusing, and sometimes it can be a downright hoot.

It seems to have drawn sides of black and white with very little gray in between. Either your here or there.

But that being said, reading all the things that are posted here, has there ever been anything posted that has influenced a Disney World vacation decision? Like did you ever read one of the thousands of threads deicated to chipped paint and did it disgust you to the point where you did not go on vacation? Or did you read some fantastic tip either I or some other poster divined upon the forum and have it work out for you so much so it enhanced your vacation experience?

Either way, is this site and its posters an influence, or after thought?

As long as my time and brilliant mind is being devoured by the people, I shall continue to post, for the people!!!

Sometimes it brings a tear to my eye when I think about how fearless Iam.

Um, and people bashing my threads are posting in them...

But getting back to topic, my thoughts are I was going to Disney World long before I started visisting this site, and will be going long after its gone. There is a lot of verified news thats the big reason I read here, along with a lot of misleading untruths being posted at random.

I enjoy this site, but it does not influence any decision I make.

Yes. Influence here. Some of the awesome photos posted have pointed out things that I have either overlooked or missed, so I make a point to seek out those points of interest. Some other topics have steered me to visit an attraction that I've passed by before because I did not think it would interest me until I read a positive review from someone here. Also have tried a meal selection based upon a review and photo I saw, and ended up being surprisingly pleased with the choice.

Reading this site has definately influenced me by-

Investing more time in photographing my trips.

Go on rides, attractions I previously by-passed( TTA, CoP, Flights of Wonder)

Help plan my dinners and quick -service meals.

Try some extra "tours"

Look for hidden mickeys.

Appreciate the history of Walt Disney and WDW.

It may influence what I do when I go, but now whether or not I'll go. It's like any other source of information on the internet, in that it adds more detail to your opinions and occasionally it's wildly inaccurate.

No. Say you're looking for a restaurant - you can find opinions ranging from it's the best to it is the worst in the world. Or the parks are falling apart to they are in the best shape ever. We just go and form our own opinion.

Yeah this for sure. I think my first sitdown dinner reservations in August 2009 were definitely influenced by what people said about Tutto Italia and Hollywood and Dine. I also was influenced by what people had said to ride and visit going into my second and third trips down there (the first one I was really blind as to what to see/where to eat/etc).

Yes it has. I joined in January 2010. Three months after a trip my wife and I went on (her first). We planned to go in March 2010 anyway but I was itching to talk to other nuts like me about Disney. So I Googled message boards and found this one.

Since then one thing that has peaked my interest is visiting Disneyland. It is something I plan on doing in 2012. Before joining this site, I always thought Disneyland was by far the poor man's version of the parks. Upon hearing opinions, looking at park maps, and judging by myself I can see that Disneyland seems to be superior in every way to Magic Kingdom. Of course I was only judging it by WDW having more parks, not by the quality and charm that DL seems to have.

So up until a couple years ago I never talked about Disney this much, never researched the original park. But I have now, and am more excited than ever.

Just because you start a thread does not mean it belongs to you.

Absolutely, especially in hunting out and noticing little details we used to walk right by. These boards have opened up the charm of Disney to us. There's so much more to love and appreciate than rides. Sometimes the negative gets a little thick on here, but I just move on to the next thread. Also, these boards have opened up the WORLD of good dining at Disney! That's why I'm on here just about daily.:hammer:

I now only ever visit WDW anymore when there's a chance to meet Jimmy Thick!

Leaving tomorrow morning for a quick 2 night stay, free autographs to my first 1000 fans. After that I will charge 45 dollars per item. No photos.
