Efforts? Posting on forums? Seriously that's pretty sad.
It's happened in the past, don't discount it!
Oh yeah, you're totally right about the TDO high ups. But the people inside TDO who want things to change want more complaints.

For Disney to listen to us we'd have to go over their heads... Tom Staggs?
I don't know about Staggs...yet...But I would put my money on the people in Glendale (Lasseter?) who pushed for our FLE.
what made them finally get rid of the wand over SSE? was it guest complaints?
That and Seimens. They did not think that it fit their image for SSE.

Which it doesn't, and never did. :D

Smart company.

You are wrong to assume that just because someone has the authority to make a decision that they have the ability to make the right ones. TDO has shown very little if any ability to make the right decisions at WDW. It is showing in the outrageous discounts being offered to keep park numbers up. If they were consistently making better decisions then WDW would still be a premium product able to charge premium prices.

Could have to do with the economy, or the fact people are losing their jobs or don't have extra money for the luxury of a vacation.

Disney could be adapting to the recession and trying to squeeze as much
money as they can.

Then again maybe not.

Unless they foresaw the recession coming 5 years ago, I don't buy your argument. It has been years of bad decisions, not months.

Yeah, and that's all the discounting you see.

What we need to see in terms of preparation to draw in more visitors now AND in the future would be investment in making the parks new, unique, fresh and updated.

I see more discounts then the general public due to the fact I work with the Make A Wish Foundation. Disney is extremely generous in that regard.

As for the parks needing to be updated, thats simple.

The parks of Disney World are fine, I go there quite often every year and still find them magical. Now if someone goes every day or every month, I can see people getting bored with them, but that is not where the money comes from, most people have to save for years to go to Disney, and in the span of a couple years, they always seem to freshen up and add new attractions.

It not about one or two people, its about the masses.

Welcome to the wonderful world of opinion. It seems I go less than you and find that there are times when the parks are stale, and in great need of refreshing. That does not diminish my enjoyment of them for the most part, however, it's just a basic need that Disney needs to fulfill, seeing that they have set the standard quite high for themselves.

You talk about the masses, but they are beginning to see this too. Disney has a wonderful name for themselves, and it's that reputation that keeps them afloat. In all honesty, it could be argued that on a small scale, they are loosing it due to the ever increasing mediocrity emanating from their operations.
