Has Primeval Whirl reopened?

Looks like a frenzy of people really missed the attraction. FWIW, in the most recent Unofficial Guide Jim Hill mentions the possibility of a replacement that's less problematic but would also fit the Dino-Rama theme. I think a funhouse type ride would be a welcome replacement.

Cliff Notes please.

Is there any other ride in Disney that would be missed less than Primeval Whirl? Understand... I'm a HUGE fan of all things Disney and a big roller coaster/thrill ride fan. But this attraction doesn't fit in either category.

It lacks the theme elements to be a true Disney ride. In fitting with the whole "Chester and Hester" carnival thing, very little theme is required (which is why I HATE this whole concept, because it gives Disney an excuse to make this whole area of the park very un-Disney - it's a cop-out).

It also lacks the thrill to be a true thrill ride. It's basically a kiddie coaster with the novelty that it spins (which I admit is kinda cool).

As I walk through Chester and Hester I always feel kind of sad... it's like a little piece of Six Flags wedged into a Disney park. Maybe not even that good.

Feeling is mutual. It is sad for WDI. It's really sad how many amazing ideas WDI has had over the years. I especially liked the Mickey and the Beanstalk ride idea. Compared to how well themed Africa and Asia are at AK(arguably the two best themed lands in all of WDW), Dinoland is pathetic.

I would miss Primeval Whirl if it were gone. We always have fun riding it. I hope they at least send out word about what is happening to it.

PW is the only Disney ride I do not feel safe on. I would love to see it go. Unfortunately the continued testing makes me think it will be returning :(

The walls are down on the left side and it was testing this afternoon. It's fully staffed but no reopening date or time has been announced, just "check back later." Shouldn't be much longer.

I'm heading into DAK in an hour or so - while I have no intention of riding it either way I'll be sure to tweet whether or not it's open (@WDWFanBoys).

Left side was open yesterday. They must have gone through some opening procedure because I asked a cast member around 4:55 (park closed at 5:00) if I could have a Fastpass and he happened to have one in his pocket from 8:25-9:25 AM. When I walked by I think it only had a 10 minute wait, even operating one side.

Interesting note, it was 90+ and humid and Kali had a 50+ minute wait all day with no Fastpass.
