I was watching the discovery channel last night and they were running s show on xtreme thrill rides, Disney was on there with TSM for some reason, but what really caught my eye was the experience from Niagara falls called "Niagara's Fury". It looks like a super plussed version of a circle vision movie. It looks totally amazing. They said on the discovery channel that it cost around 7 million dollars to make.

Wouldn't it be awesome to have a weather pavilion at epcot that had an attraction like this...

If they could combine that idea with a stormrider type attraction they would have one kick ___ e -ticket.

HUH??? That is DEFINITELY not true.

The seamless 360 sounds pretty awesome, though.

I too saw that special. The nine camera mount on the helicopter is accurate. It was amazing technology and the physical effects (rain, snow, ground movement) that accompanies the movie was very interesting.

They actually mention the fact that is the first time. But it may be as an HD rig and not a Film rig used in the Circle vision system.

Now it was design by the guys from Terminator and the Simpson's ride.

I just watched that off my DVR this afternoon. The attraction definitely looked interesting (how it classifies as a thrill ride I have no idea) but it looked interesting. I wish Disney would go buy the rights to it and put it in the Canada pavilion instead of what's in there now. I normally don't like the circlevision movies because I find them boring but this one looked like it had enough extra things to make it a worthwhile thing to see.

The thing that did surprise me was how cheap they were able to build it. Granted they didn't have to put any theming on the outside of the building like Disney does, but 7 million seemed awfully cheap for that type of attraction. I didn't think it was groundbreaking though. They kept talking about it like it was the biggest new thing ever built. Disney has had circlevision for years, just not seamless and with special effects.
