Has anyone else received a resort discount pin in an email?

I already received a free dining pin awhile back and added it to my reservation, and now I have received a pin for a resort discount of 40%.

I am one you is usually nervous about messing with stuff once it's set for fear of screwing something up, but this would save us about 800 dollars that week.

On the phone they said it should apply to the Polynesian although it wasn't listed in the email. I have to call my travel agent first to have them check into it, but I just wondered if any of you others had received it, and what your results were?

I received it, but it's not as good as free dining. You can't combine the two.

You should price it out to see which deal is better. If you're staying at a deluxe and there's only one or two of you, the room discount may be a better deal than free dining.

For us, free dining is better because we're at a mod and there are 4 "adults" (kids are 10 or older).

Free dining isn't always the best deal. Our passholder 40% off pin code saved us roughly 2K off of our Christmas stay at WL. Free dining (which we could get because we check in on 12/17) would save us "only" about $936.

OP, definitely run the numbers and see which discount works best for you and your family. :)

I got one this morning for the 40% off, but it ends on Nov. 24th. I'm going to be there the week of December 6th with free dining. I'll need to crunch the numbers and check flights (haven't bought my plane ticket yet) to see if it's going to benefit me to move my ressies up.

Got a pin this morning as well... Not sure exactly what the % of discount is, but it was $59 a night for a value, $89 for a moderate and $189 for deluxe for most nights 10/3 thru 11/24... Too bad I can't use it, we'll be there is Sept!

I got the 40% off code in February and booked for September at the Poly (actually first at POFQ and then decided what the heck, at 40% off, we can do the Poly).

My brother & I are happy with CS if we can stay so close to the magic & at a monorail resort, so we kept our location instead of switching to free dining.

I got the pin as well, but it ends in November and we're going in December for free dining. For us, I think the free dining would have worked out cheaper anyway since there's two of us in a value resort.

No argument. I was speaking of my situation.

I guess that answers the question I was going to ask. I was curious if those pin codes are totally random, or if it's based on having a stay already booked and sending you a pin code for the time you will be there.

Yep, totally random, the one pin code that I was hoping for I didn't get... It was for an upgrade to SSR or OKW during my stay!

Oh well, hopefully I will be able to use one for my next trip!
