Has anyone decided not to renew annual pass?

I have been a FL resident AP holder since 2000. I am a dual resident and because of my generous schedule made it the WDW about 25 days / yr on average.
I decided last fall to no longer renew my AP because the price has risen so much. In 2000 I paid about $160 and now it is over $500. I feel that the parks have gotten dirtier and the people (guests) less friendly and more inconsiderate. I have also noticed that I have less and less interest in dealing with the people as the crowds increase.

I still love Disney, but looking at the opening of Frozen yesterday, I saw the photos and said to myself, I am glad I am not there.

Has anyone else changed and not renewed?

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
I only didn't renew because we are not going this year but will get another late 2017 or 2018 before we go. Still think especially with the memory maker included all year it's worth it. We try to get 2 trips almost exactly a year apart for 13-14 days each so it's a no brainer to buy one. It helps we get the DVC discount but still would be buying even if we didn't get the discount because it saves us a ton just on park admission alone besides the MM that's now included. :)

We didn't renew ours in March mainly because we didn't think we would be going the rest of this year and not worth the cost to renew even with our DVC discount. If per chance we make it back this year, still more cost effective to just buy tickets. If next year allows for more than one trip we'll reconsider the cost.

OK, Martin, still not making sense. He was asking for the difference between a Florida resident price, and a non-Florida resident price. It is $100. Not $200 or $440. I believe it is disingenuous to compare the Florida Silver Annual Pass with lots of block out dates to the Platinum Plus Pass. Yes, that difference is $440, but it's also $340 cheaper for Florida residents. That wasn't the question.

We were at cross purposes then. I'll just answer the OP direct.

No, we are not renewing. The huge price jump for us compared to two years ago isn't worth what we get anymore.
Hmm, not defending anything here, but a bit confused. Two years ago, the Premium Annual Pass was $754. Today, the Platinum Plus Pass is $829. A difference of $75 that is true. But it now includes the Memory Maker, which is normally a $160 add-on. May not be worth it to you, but it's a nice free benefit that we didn't get before.

So if you go for 15 days over a year, your daily price went up only $5. Coming from England, I thought y'all mostly stayed for 2 weeks at a time, so could be 4 weeks in one year if you do it right. That's only $2.67 per day over 2 years ago. I fail to see how that is such a huge increase that you would pay even more for MYW ticket prices.

Agree and If you take more than one trip MM cost you $160 each trip in the same year. That adds up. Now you can go on 20 trips if you want and get MM for only that small difference in price (Half what a one time MM cost you only good for 30 days) once a year on the AP.:cat:

And since it is now included, we'll be having Photopass photogs take our picture everywhere. We normally wouldn't, but we won't pass up the chance to get both of us in a picture. Normally I take them, and it ends up with lots of pictures of her, and next to none of me.

Yes love using it for that reason! :D

yes, it helps that MM is included. unless you have a large family. I would paying extra per ticket, almost what the MM costs, but I would be paying it for each of my 6 family members. Not a good deal for us- we don't make 6 trips a year.
