Has anybody done the Keys To The Kingdom tour (possible spoilers)

We did it a few years ago and had a great time. It's more of a museum tour than a show. You will have a guide who will take you around the park pointing out historic or unique facts. They tell some good stories, they took us through haunted mansion and fed us lunch at columbia harbor house. You can bring a camera even though they say you can't in the descriptor, they just ask you not to photograph certain things. You get a brief look into the utilidors system and get a sneak peek at the arcade staging area. We also saw woody without his head on backstage! It is def something different that you should experience if you are a big Disney fan.

Hey, I went on the tour a few years ago and saw Woody without his head too. Could it be we were on the same tour?

Did the tour last year and rode JC, HM and PoTC, lunch at Harbor house. Was great and may do it again. The cast members giving the tour are real pixie dusters and it shows.

Spoilers, there is ONE flag on Main Street in the square, the rest are pennants. The water in the canals is dyed that color and the CM said that the only real names on the Main Street windows were Roy's and the land development company which we all know is not true. Cm's have been known to make things up so you have been warned.

DH and I took this tour last November. It was excellent. As for rides we went on Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Carribean and Haunted Mansion. Lunch at Columbia Harbor House was very good.

When we went to the Parade storage area - saw Spectro floats in storage. Very sad that they are gone now.

Didn't see Woody with his head off but saw Aurora (full hair and make-up done) with street clothes on and carrying a coffee - was funny, reminded me of an updated version of the character.

Have taken most of the tours which WDW offers and have found that they are all worth the time and effort (what effort?). We keep eyes open for any new tours which may be offered. Have taken Backstage and Keys to the Kingdom several times. If you can fit a tour into your schedule - take it - they give a completely new perspective of what it takes to bring the theme parks to life.

Jencor, can she transfer to the boats of the jungle cruise and PoTC? They have wheelchair boats but if she can transfer you will have a better ride. Other than that the entire tour is accessable.

Just make sure that when you book a WDW tour that you let them know that you need a wheel-chair for a member of the party. This is very - very important for your escort to know. One of the tours which my family took was delayed for over an hour while the tour host made arrangements for a member of the tour who failed to advise upon booking that they were in a wheelchair.

Hi

I'm going to WDW for the 10th time next month and am looking into doing the Keys To The Kingdom tour.

Can anybody talk me through it? I don't mind spoliers.

Being British (read miserable) I don't really want something that's all singing all dancing interactive. I don't mind chatting but no re-enacting things or getting involved too much!

Thanks :)
While it is customary for Americans to give presentations singing and to break out in dancing routines at random intervals, this tour is thankfully devoid of any of that. The mood and setting are simply not conducive to that, what with you visiting the atomic bunkers beneath the castle and the cryonically frozen bodies of Walt's nine old men, the original Imagineers. (But not Walt himself, that's an internets myth!!)

Thanks, she can walk short distances, get on and off rides. We do bring our own wheelchair, but would make sure they are aware of it. Sounds like fun. We will have to try it on our next trip.

We took the Backstage Magic tour last year, and our lead tour guide was in a wheelchair himself!

KTTK was one of the most memorable things that my Mother and I did together a few years ago. It was well worth the money (at the time), not sure how much it is now but it was $60 then. A big part of the magic had to do with our wonderful tour guide Matthew. He was just amazing from beginning to end and even shed a tear at the very end of it all- so magical! Lunch was at my favorite spot in the MK, Columbia Harbor House... they blocked off the upstairs for our group and gave you a Key to the World pin that you can only get if you take the tour.

It was something I will always remember Well worth it!

I called today to see if they had any tour available in Portuguese and they didn't know! She even called MK to ask but no one picked up the phone. She did gave me email address for the are responsible for the tours at MK so I sent them an email and now I'm waiting for a answer. I hope they have someone available, I'd love to the this tour.

God bless the "Ignore" button.
Fair warning: now that Jessie and Woody are back at Splash instead of the location by the parade gate, the chances of seeing them... in a state of "undress", shall we say... is vastly lessened. The chances of seeing a princess in modern clothes, though, still stands. And increases during lunch time.

How about Jessie and Woody in modern clothes and princesses in a state of undress?? :P

Thank you everyone for all your replies. Much appreciated.

For those who asked it won't be till end of October.

Out of interest is it just the Haunted Mansion you ride during it? Fine with me (my favourite!) but think I read somewhere you do a couple?
We did Jungle Cruise and Pirates when we went, can't remember doing Haunted Mansion - but they do change things from time to time.
