My understanding is this was a way to tie in some more "modern" look and feel to Adventureland as well as expand the attraction roster.

I believe the original plans were to have it in FL behind 20K. No idea about the jungle stuff however.

Adventureland. Fantasyland would've received Bald Mountain.

I know the project was relocated to Adventureland to add a thrill ride but I could've sworn I read somewhere that it would've gone to FL before Bald Mountain was a concept. Or I'm just making things up. Probably the latter.

Let me add I drew these to show the lands general expansion areas. Not for any rumoured coming attraction. If there is one it's news to me.

Yeah I wasn't trying to suggest they are using the plot. I have no idea why they might be flying balloons. Could be an Adventureland DVC for all I know.

@P_Radden @marni1971 Thank You both for the great map and visuals. It's interesting how much land there is for expansion on this side of the park, was aware of all that space. Wonder what holds them back from expanding ever on it, besides $. Maybe some day
That area is perfect for adding another 2 acres to PotC to update it to the Shanghai version, which is a tall building, meaning, you'd need height balloon tests....

actually i though shanghi was really cool. i like the davy jones potc movies better then any of the others.

If this pad were to be used, the attraction show building would be tucked up behind the Pirates bldg, more towards the backstage support area and less towards the monorail beam. There's support infrastructure that would have to be moved, so some of the space would be taken for that.
Think of how many princess M+G's you could fit in that space

So...any non-BB-8 balloons flying over the park or is this much ado about nothing?
Actual balloons and some smarty-pants' approximation of height like over at the Swolphin last year would be helpful to discussion.

Great maps and thanks for the labels (I couldn't figure out exactly where I was looking before). That is a huge area, much more than I thought they had (without having to convert land to usable space, or wetland mitigation issues). The roads wouldn't be a huge issue, either relocation or bridge/tunnel. Heck they build water bridges...

The one by International Gateway is so impressive.
