Hi, I was just wondering if there has been an announcement as to the opening date for the Harry Potter park. From what I can find it just says spring. I am going down late March/early April and was hoping the park would be open. Thanks

I'm sure the second there is a real date announced we will all know it. Until then, if people know, they aren't allowed to tell. If they claim to know, they most likely don't.

It was announced at a press conference that they will open by the Pow Wow convention in early May, but it has also been confirmed to be open for Grad Bash, so I would bet on mid to late April for opening.

Just remember, Rockit was also going to be open for Grad Bash.
Just sayin'...

Yeah, but Rockit was never as prominently posted on the site as HP is. And since they pretty much have to get it up by Pow Wow if they want some great press coverage I wouldn't be surprised if they used Grad Bash as a test and adjust period. It's the smart thing to do.

I sure hope so...I will be there May 1-2!
I'll be there then too. Maybe I'll see you.

I asked a person that worked at Universal if they knew when WWoHP was supposed to open, and He said something along the lines of "Oh, like April 15?" But as you know, even when they set deadlines it could always take longer >_>

According to Orlando Attractions blog today we are probably looking at a late May opening at the earliest for the official date. The reason they are giving this time frame is because of a contest that is being held that was announced on the Today show. The contest will allow a school class to attend the opening ceremony for Harry Potter. The contest ends on March 19th and voting ends on April 29th. This means that the earliest they will officially open the section will be sometime in May, but this doesn't mean that it won't be open before then for a soft opening.

They could ship out the winning people right away in early May so they can open by Pow Wow and grab all the media attention that comes with it. Plus, it still opens up the ability for Grad Bash being used as a test and adjust period.

Is it a long shot? Yes. But it also makes a lot of sense since travel/media people will already be in Orlando for the convention.

Yeah, but the whole 3-Day ticket referring to "one park a day" is what got me.

Conducted another mini-poll among my friends and over half of them said, "It's not a separate park? Oh."
