Harry Potter phase 2 construction starting

There is an enormous crane present at the Jaws site. Just an update I thought you all would be interested in. Unfortunately I won't be able to get aerial photos for a few weeks atleast.

I wondered what was attached to the (what was evidently at the time only part of) small crane the other night. It looked like it might be a crane boom section, but I wasn't sure.

Does the angle of the crane mirror the angle used on Transformers in California? If so, I can only assume they're building two Transformers attractions, including one in the middle of Diagon Alley.

I agree. You can tell a lot by the crane used for building an attraction.

Every theme park fan knows. The general populace does not. You announce Potter Phase 2 is opening in 2 years at USF...people put their vacations off for 2 years.

But it's the worst kept secret in the history of the world....

So much so the announcement is going ro be such an anti climax.... Even people that aren't "fans" like us know that HP is going there.

Announcements are made to build anticipation and get people's plans going... and get massive press attention.

USF already has that going on with the current HP. Why blow your wad early? Milk the current draw as much as you can.. and when you need a boost of energy.. announce the HP expansion.

Given UNI's moves this year, I can not help but think they are saving all the press noise to derail WDW announcements.

Thanks for posting this, it was very helpful. Wonder how close they will try to stick to the June 2014 opening. If I remember correctly the first section was delayed for months of it's original opening date.
