You know what I find funny? How a year ago on this thread people were speculating on when Potter phase 2 would be announced and everyone was saying how they thought they were waiting for Disney to make an announcement....still funny how to this very day even after Transformers opening and Potters announcement we still haven't heard a peep from WDW.

Thanks for posting this, it was very helpful. Wonder how close they will try to stick to the June 2014 opening. If I remember correctly the first section was delayed for months of it's original opening date.
I'd bet this will open in June. 10 months for Universal is like 3 years for Disney.

They didn't give a concrete opening date, just a season. Although at the rate they're going with this one I'd say June 2014, possibly even June 18th, 2014 (the four-year anniversary), is extremely likely.

But I believe HTF mentiond on Orlando United that as soon as The Springfield expansion is finished construction on Diagon Alley/London is kicking into an even higher gear.

Hmm I just don't see Springfield really helping or hurting HP 2.0 though. It's not like they accessibility problems like that Mine Train on an island in fantasyland. They have such easy access to the site and the prep site I don't see Springfield affecting it much if at all.

Could it simply be a reallocation of all resources/manpower from Springfield to Diagon?

Just some insight on the workload and how it's being balanced and feel free to take it for what it's worth,

Teams working on 609 left there to begin work on 722 and numerous "creative" minds went straight into show sets for Gringotts and some started AA work for Diagon and Gringotts. Several employees from Nassal, Creative, and sub contractors as well as PCL employees were shifted to 971 the moment 609 was turned over to operations as 971 was weeks behind schedule. The original target date for 971 was late June. Now once 971 is fully opened all parties will be focusing on Potter until late in the year when Jurassic Park will begin work. Also on a side note several Nassal employees are literally just finishing up several parts of 971 and are soon transferring over to IOA to begin work on the JP games.
