Harry Potter music Hollywood Studios bus

Thanks to their ASCAP licenses, people have heard Harry Potter, James Bond, and Jurassic Park music at the Studios at different times, especially during opening/closing or during special events when certain general "movie music" BGM loops are played, despite all three franchises having themed attractions at other competitor parks.

For those finding this weird, the Harry Potter films are played on Disney owned ABC Family all the time. The entertainment industry is quite incestuous. Disney films quite a bit at Universal Studios Hollywood.
^This. Disney & Universal are not at war with each other. Dare I mention that many CM's spend off days at Uni, and Uni employees do the same at Disney. I personally find the music enjoyable regardless of which company released it. (Though it is quite entertaining watching the Pixie Duster's steam under their mouse ears at the sound of HP symphony playing on their Disney grounds.)

Exactly.

I actually have a humorous anecdote involving HP:
It was the day after Universal made the official announcement about the first Wizarding World of Harry Potter. I was at Hollywood Studios, enjoying a snack at a table by Min & Bill's when HP came on the background loop. I had just enough time to recognize it as being Harry Potter before the music went silent. For a split second my mind thought someone backstage realized "Oh crap, that's Universal now, mute it! Mute it!" until I realized it had just gone quiet for the 15-minute pre-show warning for the afternoon parade. Afterward it came back onto the sound system. ;)

CM's don't even mind discussing Universal and other competing locations. Back in 2009 we were at DTD riding the Characters In Flight balloon attraction. Once at the top altitude, a boy asked the "pilot" where Universal was & if it could be seen from our location. The CM was very nice, showed the boy where Uni was, and even pointed out the two towers of IOA's Dr. Doom attraction. Nobody seemed to care. The boy was happy, the CM was helpful. Yet there was one woman who's eyes got really big, and she looked around with a shocked/disgusted expression as if something horrible had just happened. (It appeared she was waiting for one of us to speak up & rebuke this CM for mentioning off-site locations). You could tell she was a Pixie Duster, and I certainly hope it made her boil for the rest of the day.

Well DHS is a park that's based around movie right? Well let's think about one major blockbuster and movie franchise....oh right, Harry Potter! :) Harry Potter is widely popular and just because it is 'Universal Property' doesn't make it this untouchable ,Warner Bros only, Film. At least Disney isn't afraid to go to the Dark Side grab a good soundtrack, and sneak in a few cookies too. Unlike Universal, Disney is more open to other film industries and is okay with using a few things other things here and there. :D :)

Major thread bump... On an annual passholder FB page, someone had noticed Hedwig's theme playing...

..Kind of odd that they are STILL playing this music?
