For me it's when we cross under the Welcome to Disney sign at the resort enterance. I'm sure I get this goofy grin on my face that lasts until we drive back under it on the way home.

i completley agree with this, when i see the entrance signs to the world i feel all disney and im always really sad to see it when i leave!:king:

10 years ago: Driving down 75 from and turning on the radio that Disney had that told what was going on in the WDW resort that week. I sure miss that.....Driving through the main gate and seeing the first monorail and all the topiarys that were cut like animals..

.....The purple Disney signs on the way iinto the WDW.
.....the music that plays in the background at the MK on Main St.
......the train whistle from the WDW railroad<img>

Epcot is always our first park. I know I am there when I first see SE and hear the music they play in the front of the park. I miss it now.

We visit WDW as part of our trips to visit my parents who live about an hour away:sohappy: As we exit I-4, my husband and I (and two sons) listen to "Disneyland" by Five for Fighting (you know it goes "It's a GREAT day when you wake up in Disneyland" CD- The Battle for Everything-if anyone is interested) We just sing Disney World for Disneyland. Also, my almost 4 yr old loves the Mickey soap. As soon as we get to our room, he runs to the bathroom, grabs the bar and takes a BIG whiff. That does it for him! Our last visit in Jan. our room was ready @9:00 am and he insisted on taking the soap to AK. Alot of people got a kick out of him carrying the soap around the park. It's 30 degrees  here in PA. June can't come soon enough!

I think I am more emotional at WDW than at home. My Boyfriend makes fun of me, but I always cry during Wishes....and Fantasmic, and Illuminations...and American Adventure, and any parade, or when I see a little kids get all excited about a character. I guess there is just something about WDW that get sme all fakelmpt(sp?). That's how I know I am finally at Disney.

I know I'm there when I get on the monorail at the front in MCO airport to transport you to the main terminal and you go over the palm trees, feel the heat.

Two things for me...when we drive under the Welcome sign, and then when I get my first sight of TOT...no matter how brief it is, once I see it, I am good.

My husband and I travel with our teenaged students on a school bus. We roll all night, shower in Ocala, and then meet our tour guide at the McDonald's nearest the purple entrance gates. I get the park hopper cards and distribute to my students. The moment the bus starts out of that McDonald's and the questions from my students start, I get the I'm-at-Disney- butterflies. We start waving to everyone and everything is 10X as funny. Can't wait!! If you are there April 9th through 14th look for us. We will be the only school bus with the words Red River Parish Schools on the side (parishes not counties in Louisiana, we have Napoleon to thank).;)

5 weeks and 3 days until the "yellow limo" rolls- ºoºrlando bound!:sohappy:

Heya Kids:

This is a thought I had the other day. And is a nice complement to the 'Sad Thought': When do you really feel that your at Disney World?

To me, and I've only been three times (hoping for trip four in Jan 06) it seems like a dream when you return, and it isn't until something clicks a trigger in your brain and you find yourself, smiling harder than you have before, or your more carefree because you realize your actually back in Disney World.

Is it something you hear, is it something you touch, is it something you smell, is it something you taste, is it a ride, or a restaurant, is it seeing a certain character or is it just something you see?

For myself, have a couple of them. I know I am really at Disney World, when I hear the music from Tomorrowland, or when I hear the Music from Spaceship Earth. It also hits when I ride Splash Mountain, it's the music, smell, and visual stimulus. And the tactile feel of the Tiki Statues in Adventureland, I always have to touch them and the ground in front of them. The taste of a Mickey Mouse Ice Cream Sandwich also lets me know I am there.

What lets you know your really at Disney World and your not just having a very good dream??

Oh My thats EXACTLY my thoughts! Apart from the tiki stautes i love the Spaceship Earth music and commentary. That always send shivers down my spine. As im so happy when i hear it. I too love the mickey ice cream sandwiches. Also the trams taking you to the park are just magical! Its funny how stupid things can make you feel so happy!!

Stepping onto a Virgin Atlantic plane at London Gatwick, and stepping off at Orlando International, and taking the monorail to the passport control/baggage check.

There's a certain atmosphere in Disney World like no where else in the world! You feel excited, and almost giddy!

I know I am at Disney World when I am outside the park gates, waiting for the opening...

And then I hear the "welcome" music, and the gates open...

The sight of the castle, the smells of fresh magic...

Getting my first FastPass of the day!

Driving into the main gates of Walt Disney World!! :sohappy: That's the point that I feel totally wrapped up in the Disney spirit! The outside world just seems to fade away and the realization of being at WDW really sinks in!! That's where the magic begins for me. Love that feeling!
