Trip Report Happy New Year! Semi-Live TR

Hi friends! I’m back and I barely remember how to do a TR but I am in WDW now to start the year off right!

Any fellow Sunny fans here? This is what I felt like doing after our flight was delayed over two hours and our bags showed up at the wrong carousel

Guess where we’re staying?

I make no guarantee of quality or quantity of posts or images but I will try to update at least a couple of times per day.

The rest of the night at DHS…

The park was open until 11 for deluxe resort guests including the Swolphin so we finally got to ride Slinky with less than an hour wait!

We didn’t have to wait too long for a boat back and we crashed in the room

Slowest service EVERRRRRRRR at La crêperie

We both did the Prix fixe option at La crêperie. The service was SO. SLOW. We saw multiple other tables who had arrived after we did get their meals and leave and we had barely gotten our salads. The savory crepes were good but M’s goat cheese crepe just felt lacking. The raw walnuts on top would have been better toasted or candied or…something! Or it could have used some kind of jam or pickles or something for acid.

The dessert crepes were very tasty, BUT! THE! FRUIT! WAS! ALL! CANNED! OR! FROZEN!

We are glad we tried this place and the food was good, BUT we could not believe how slow the service was, and the non-fresh fruit is inexcusable.

Today was a high crowd day and most restaurants had huge lines, but La crêperie was no more than 2/3 full, there were reservations available, and they were accepting walk ups. I would not be surprised if this place is completely reworked within a year.

After we finally got out of La crêperie we continued our quest to drink around the world in Morocco!

Sooo does it cost one bug plus $6?

This was supposed to be a frozen mint tea with Bombay Sapphire. It was about 10% frozen but still very tasty!

We stopped in Mitsukoshi for a little browsing…

…and got on yet another long line for our next drink, the sake shaved ice:

This was super yummy and I’d get it again for sure!

By this time we figured out that we had to queue up for the next drink as soon as we got the current drink or we’d never get through all of WS

Beer flight! Our favorite was the Kentucky Bourbon Barrel ale but we liked them all!

Lines lines lines!!! We had to take turns standing online for the drinks and standing online for the bathroom

The Martini Mania from Italy and Pinot Noir from Germany were both great! We would totally go back just for a chocolate gelato and we might buy a bottle of that wine.

We have a good friend who used to work in the greenhouses and we have heard ALL the stories. So if you had a tour from a CM named Kathleen in 2019-2020 you know our friend, and if you behaved badly we heard about you

We always knew Mulan and Belle were gay.

After we exited the park we met M’s mom and dad at the IG. They are staying at Pop and just checked in yesterday. We had a nice chat to catch up, then we headed back to our respective resorts.

I was craving beans and rice so M and I swung by Rosa Mexicano to see if they offered food to go and…

They did!! We had the chihuahua cheese enchiladas (comes with rice) plus a side each of black beans and esquites. YUM YUM YUM!

Breakfast in the room:

I can’t drink (more than a few sips of) coffee anymore so I bring my own tea whenever I go on vacation. I cold brew it in a jar overnight and have fresh cold tea in the morning!

I was pretty proud of my hair this morning!

My in-laws picked us up from the Swan and we all drove to the Contemporary for lunch at Steakhouse 71.

And the real reason we picked this restaurant…

When our server came to ask if we needed dessert menus I couldn’t stop myself from blurting out, “CAKE!” We all shared it but M and I are most of it. It was everything we had hoped for and more!
