luddite is one who opposes technical or technological change.

Her children and many others aren't against change in terms of new upgrades in sound, lighting, refreshed costumes and refurbished set pieces or even a new flume and boats.

Her children and many others are against change in terms of adding Disney characters to a ride that is famous and popular enough as it is that will gain nothing by adding Disney characters and will simply become a spot the character game as what has become with I spy jack sparrow in PoTC. Hong Kong's version which also incorporates disney movie music is very destracting and hardly seemless. The french scene with bibbidi bobbidi boo playing over the small world song with cindy and prince waving at guests screams "look at me look at me look at me, buy something at the end of the ride!"

The building and theater system is all from 1975. The final scene is a basic shell from 1975, the carousel core and stages are all from 1975.

Only act's 1, 2, and 3.

The main rooms are pretty much the same. The only differenes I can think of is the 1940s kitchen booth that replaced the original nook bench and other kitchen equipment. Heck, the refrigerator still says General Electric on it!

The AA's aren't original as far as I know, but many of their masks are replicas or atleast second generations. I do know that father masks are from a 1994 casting and are different from what father looked like in 1964.

Some of the costumes are different, like with the fourth of july scene or james in the halloween scene.

The curtains and in the load and unload room are from 1975.The 1994 gear symbol used to be a 1985 carousel blueprint symbol, and before that a 1975 GE logo. From 1964-1973 the load and unload theaters had dazzling kaleidophonic screens that would pulse in sync to the full piece band and orchestra playing beautiful tomorrow.

As for what was original presented.

Act 1 was springtime with the robins. Mother and an unkown girl were doing laundry. Jane (now called Patty) was going to a trolley party as she still does or something like that. James was not looking at a stereoscope but using some type of early vacum cleaner thingamajig. Grandma was listenting to the radio with the Parrot.

Act 2 was summer. Mother was on the porch sewing or knitting. Jane was in the same room she was now talking smack about women's rights. Orville was still in the bathroom. James and Grandpa were listening to the radio.

Act 3 was autumn. James was not in his bedroom but rather in another room watching black and white television. Mother was still in the rumpus room. Grandma and Grandpa were in the den listening to a radio. Grandma has a new hearing aid. The black and white television you see there was from the original 1964 version which james was watching cowboys and indians. Jane was still loosing weight with that machine.

Act 4 was Christimas in the 1960s. The kitchen was on our left. The dining room was on our right. It was father, mother, rover, and the family cat. Behind them and through the windows was a suburban community covered with snow. The grandparents were at a retirement community but visiting for christmas dinner. Orville and the children had gone to get them at the airport.

To the most important and one of my most favorite rides, Happy Birthday COP!!!

Also when I went in Feb 08 I actually had to wait a little as there was a short line. I was never more happy to wait in line. I make a point every time I go to tell the CM how much I love the ride. Who knows, enough times and someone with power to keep it running will hear it.

A few years ago Disney had all the theaters refurbished and the exterior carousel walls repainted. The preshow originally tried using flatscreen TV's, but I believe has since gone to using the standard monitors.

It has been open nearly every day of the year since 2003 and thats with both Stitch and Monsters open now. There have been seasonal billboards trying to get people into the ride, even using suprise fastpasses and having a buzz meet n greet right at the ride to hopefully get people on it.

The ride just needs some TLC and promotion, it doesn't need stitch or a churro...though father giving out churros would be amazing.
