News Happily Ever After fireworks show returning to Magic Kingdom in 2023

Exactly, not to mention painting the castle pink makes the pink and gold "transformation" during HEA much worse. I fear they might not update them at Magic Kingdom for a while. At least until they get a new show. Disneyland had a similar problem with their projections up until Wondrous Journeys.
Let's convince them that painting it back to blue is the cheaper option. The rose gold sucks

Crazy theory on my part but with the new parade being called Starlight And them using the Wishes theme in the actual presentation and saying "starlight starbright" in their little promotional video on Instagram It's making me think wishes might come back for a limited time. Maybe they'll use Wishes as a chance to run a show without projections so that they can upgrade the projectors?

I would totally be on board with Wishes coming back. I feel like DE could potentially be on the chopping block for either Wishes or HEA. I personally would prefer Wishes to be nightly and HEA replace DE at DAH, but it would probably be the other way around.

I'd rather HEA nightly with Wishes at AH. I hope they upgrade the projections and maybe add projections to Wishes, although it seems unlikely given how easy it is to do DE comparatively.

I love the show happily ever after. It is an absolute master class on what a Disney fireworks show with projections can be. Having said that the projections have been pretty bad even before the plaza refurbishment began. This became painfully obvious to me upon seeing Disney illuminations at Disneyland Paris. The projections really popped. It was obviously better projections. And not just by a small margin. Magic Kingdom really needs to fix this. I don't think new projectors are needed out so much as the technology needs constant adjustment, and maintenance that they're just not getting.

Additionally in my opinion only, it did not help when they painted the castle rose gold. I always felt as though it muted the projections when they did that. So the colors became a little off because they weren't projecting on the same color surfaces they were originally designed to project on.
They redid and recolored the projections when the castle was repainted for the 50th and for DE.

That's why after the 50th they never reverted back to the original 2017 projections.
Why would they put in the extra work and manpower to remove the 50th decorations on the 2022 projections and keeping everything else (smaller objects like the lamp and moving Hercules to the castle entranceway to account for the 50th medallion). It must be because of the different color surfaces on the castle and turrets that they kept the modified color correction and projections.

It could also be true that the projectors themselves haven't been services much since they came online in 2017. Like the bulb or something. But since they've been improving the lights and lasers here and there, they may be hope one day.

I've got to imagine they're doing it soon since they've been investing in magic kingdom nighttime infrastructure in general with the lasers, lights and nighttime parade. Side note the Gusteau's logo was never put back in the right spot, in fact when it had all all the 50th just without the mediation it was correct and then when everything was taken off it was put in the bottom again.

Did they though? The re painting did not happen overnight. So there was a long period when the castle was in transition between the two color paint schemes. I know they absolutely changed some of the projections to account for The medallion. Specifically to HEA I'm less convinced that they actually changed the color of the projections to account for the color change on the castle. And I'm certainly convinced they haven't maintained it. Water / moisture / heat and time on the lens? Age of the light source for the projectors? Color of the paint on the castle? Other causes, and some combination of All or nothing of these. Whatever the reason. The projections are not what they should be.

Disneyland Paris updated their projectors to laser a couple of years back. I'm not a AV geek but I believe the benefit is the laser does not reduce in luminosity like a typical projector would?

Any interesting Fireworks rumors Steve?

I would love HEA to take a break in November/December in favor of Wishes and Castle Dreamlights! Or, do Wishes for AH or at least, a little Wishes Tag along with HEA!!!!

I’ve not heard of any plans to remove HEA in the near term. They’re trying to avoid unforced errors after Harm; meanwhile, HEA is very popular.

Heaven forbid they put in a less popular fireworks show and have a light parade that falls flat. I’m not saying the parade will, but you don’t know until you know. They didn’t expect Harm or DisEnchantment to fail.

I’d expect some updates to Luminous first. There are already talks of switching out songs.

I still don’t see how they thought HarmoinUS was gonna work. That should have never made it past the sketchbook.

I hope the Toy Story section of Luminous is on the chopping block.

HEA is still MK's Finest Show but that doesn't mean Wishes wouldn't work for AH(DE proved that this year) or a short period like Nighttastic Fireworks 2010.

The painting didn't happen overnight but by the time they started doing projections again the painting was done and they had to update everything to account for the color change.

Look at that terrible MVMCP Castle Show.
That show is so funny, I personally love it… but I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea! I just know that my family all loves to watch it and laugh together, which at the end of the day is a great result for a Christmas stage show! Unless you mean the firework show, but that firework show is pretty solid.

Most Merriest(Castle Show) is a good Show but it's not MK's Finest. MK's Finest Christmas Show was mid 90's Sparkling Christmas Spectacular!

Is this an extinction level event for luminous, or just a plussing of the middle?
