The Maleficent/HellFire section of Hallowishes has been cut from the show. This is the section just after Oogie Boogie, and just before the Scream A Long.

This section of the show used a lot of pyro in a short period of time. Could it have been cut to save money?

Havn't heard if this is temp for only select nights or if this is a permanent cut.

EDIT: Never Smile at a Crocodile/Skeleton dance has also been cut

Boo52, maybe you could shed some light?

On another board I read that people were also claiming that this years show was shorter. Smile Like a Crocodile and another section they named. So it's not just you. But other people were saying they had taped it in past years and it was only maybe 30 seconds shorter. Can anyone definitively confirm/deny?

Yep. We saw it on a "full-priced" (no AP/DVC discount) night and it was still a shorter show. I figure it's another entertainment budget cutback.

Weak!

Our 5yr. old has never seen the show but can sing along to the entire soundtrack.

Even he will be disappointed when he sees it for the first time next year (if there's anything left of the show by then!).

Humph!

Yep, it is shorter and yes it is to decrease the cost of the show. Look for some similar edits to Music and Mayhem during P&P next year as well.

Which would folks rather have: fewer fireworks shells or increased prices (ticket, food, merchandise, etc)? Of course, the easy answer is "neither" - but in the current economic climate, that's not realistic.

My personal choice for cost saving would be to do away with free dining, but that's just me.

Well the dress song was already cut from the 1st set of parites to the second set. Are they going to cut more? As long as they keep the Pink/Blue battle and Pirates sections, it may be alright.

They should use shells that you can only see with special glasses, and issue different glasses depending on your class of resort. If you're staying at a deluxe hotel the show will last 15 minutes, 10 minutes for moderates, 5 minutes for value. Staying off site? No glasses, but you could still hear some boom-booms.

Yeah...not really fair considering everybody paid the same price to get in the party. Besides, wouldn't those shells cost more anyway?

I hope this was a joke.

So can anyone confirm (using the segments labled in the Wikipedia article: http://http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HalloWishes) what part has been cut from the show? I saw another poster had mentioned Never Smile At Mr Crocodile but that was the first I had heard about it. We had a thread earlier saying that Maleficent's part was cut. Is it all of Maleficent's visit or just the Hellfire part of it?

Just curious. Thanks!

I watched Hallowishes from a distance last week (while leaving Epcot, from the parking lot) and know the show like the back of my hand from when I used to Youtube like a fiend when I was craving WDW...anyway, I was singing the show in my head, and can indeed confirm Maleficent's visit through hellfire has been cut from the show. It goes from Boogeyman into the scream-along. Hellfire was my favorite part of the show too....oh well.

Didn't realize it when I first saw it this weekend, but in fact the Never Smile at a Crocodile section has also been cut.

according to Wikipedia, Cruella De Ville was also cut from the show this year

do you guys think they'll be playing the full show on Halloween? (not that I'm going then..I'm going on the 19th)
what about next year? Do you think this is a permanent change?

Genious. I'm off to the lab with a bucket full of chemicals and box of old sunglasses!

It would probably be a little easier if they just rearranged the fireworks and used a little less instead of cutting the soundtrack and a whole section of the show. Does anybody have a video of the shortened version?

I hope they dont do the same with Holiday Wishes.
