...What is this I see before me...A treat...No.. A trick..Yes...For those who are about to venture into a magical spooky vacation, make sure your pumpkin is filled with dollars..I was just looking at the Halloween stuff that's available to buy,and was gobsmacked by the prices...Now I know Disney isn't a cheap vacation and all things magical cost that wee bit more inside the bubble, than outside, but wait for it..A Halloween pin costing $19.95,and that's the starting price.. ( WDW store.com ) They average around $29.00:jawdrop:...And a T- Shirt with the Halloween logo for $39.00 ..:jawdrop:...So here's me planning a October 2015 vacation, after 5 vacations in July...This won't stop me going in October, but I was wondering for those who have been to WDW in different months of the year..Is October a more expensive vacation than say May or July..??We usually take approx $1500 for souvenirs ( Excluding food & drink ) Thats based on a 14 day stay..Would be interested to hear views on this..:inlove:..

We always go in October and $1500 is what we typically take for food alone for a 9 day stay. October can be an expensive month, but not much more than other months. I think what you may be seeing is MNSSHP specific merchandise which, like any other "party" event, has higher prices for the items.

Our solution to save money on high priced souvenirs is simple... we just don't buy them. Find a Disney outlet's clearance section :)

I've been to the outlet stores. All of them. They are not the bargain everyone thinks they are. Everything is just about the same prices as in the parks. The things that are on clearance are broken half the time. Every now and then you can find a good bargain but not often anymore.

I purchase some things before we leave, such as glow bracelets and necklaces. We've also purchased some shirts and other items from the outlets (Character Carnival across I-4 and the outlet in St. Augustine). There is a big difference in most of the clothing prices between the outlets and the resort. Also, most of the toys are at least 30% off their WDW price. We bring sodas, water, and snacks with us. We usually buy one meal each day and maybe a snack while at the park. We basically eat if we're hungry, which we're usually not very hungry while moving around; we drink a lot more at the parks...lemonades, water, soft drinks.

You know what's funny..We have a Disney store in Glasgow..I've been in many times but I've always said to Mrs Hatter..If I bought something from here,it's not the same..Yes it's a Disney product, but I would look at it and think..Yeh! Bought that in Glasgow,Scotland..Not WDW in Florida.....

Precisely why we have never bought anything at the Disney store near here. ;)

I don't think it is any more of an expensive time to go then any other. Any specialized souvenirs "Christmas, Halloween, etc" are going to be more pricey. You can get cute Disney Halloween clothes at Target. :) For a fraction of the price! I like them better then some of the items at WDW anyway. I tend not to get the yearly themed stuff or holiday themed items anyway b/c I want to wear it year round. :)
