Halloween Party

Hey Guys,

I have a question about the Halloween Party and the workings therein.

If I take our family to the MK on A MNSSHP day, we get there at opening, with no intention of participating in the party (ie paying $55 extra, and getting candy), will we be asked to leave when it starts at 4:00?

How do they know that we have been there all day? And what will they say if you just want to be there but not for the party.

I want to make MNSSHP day a normal day, with normal fees, not extra ones. That is just how our vacation is shaking up.

Thanks
Alec

The party does not start till 7pm. So you can stay till then. After 7pm you must have a wristband you get after showing your party ticket. Cast members go threw the crowds asking to see the wristband and without one you are told to exit the park. You can not stay in the park without the wristband. This would not be fair to everyone who did pay for a ticket! Until 7pm the park is open as usual. The party besides candy has special character meet and greets, a special parade and fireworks only shown at the party.

You will be able to stay until 7 when the official party starts. party-goers are given a specail wristband, and guests without them are told to leave, and are not allowed on rides after 7

Just an fyi. Not only will you be asked to leave the park, but you will not be able to buy anything, and will not be allowed into any shops, etc...
My suggestion is if you can, to do a different park on that day, or if you have the park hopper option, head to another park around 6:00 to 6:30. Why not 7:00? Mass exit from MK is why.

...or you could just plan around it and do MK on a day when there is no MNSSHP.
I think that is what we may have to do. Its all good. Albeit having to swap different parks for different days. We usually like MK on our first day.

I also have to deal with POTC being closed on 10/9. I am glad I found out about that in advance (Thanks to WDWMagic.com)!! That would be a travesty if I miss that ride for my normal five times!

The early closure time has been posted pretty much since the 180 days when the calendar went up. If a guest chooses to go to a park on a day that they have publicly posted has a shorter close time, that is the guests choice. Just like if you went to MK on a day they didn't have Wishes scheduled to be shown. The information was available, and the guest had the opportunity to schedule differently. And if you purchased a multi day ticket, your hourly park cost is typically less than what the MNSSHP guests are paying.

With a 9-7 day, you can still be pretty darn productive if you plan it well, and not really be affected by the early closure.

I've gone to MK plenty of times when there was either a Halloween or Christmas party that evening. If we got there at rope drop or shortly thereafter, we always had plenty of time to see the entire park. In fact we were usually done around 3 or 4, went back to the resort to clean up, and spent the rest of the evening at DTD.

I am sure that is interesting watching them move all those guests around.

Another point, MK may even be less crowded on party days because it does close earlier and they don't show Wishes or MSEP meaning many guests are likely to chose another park on those days. ;)

Is that also true for MVMCP?? We have late ADR's at Libery Tavern a party night and on the way out we were going to stop in some of the shops.

Really? So you would say that, on a party day, during the day (9-6 or so) they may have less guests? Very very interesting... I may convince my wife into going that day after all.

But then again with the mini-refurb at POTC on 10/9, I may go to MK to see the new stuff in there...

I am not really sure about it, because I have never been there for that. But I would error on the side of caution, and say yes it is the same.

People overlook the fact that you can get a ton of stuff done on a 9-7 MK day. Not to mention, MK is actually 8-7 on some dates later in October. Guests seem to see that MK closes at 7 so decide to hit other parks, especially when there are EMHs elsewhere.

We went last Christmas for the party, at 7 they closed the doors to all the shops and you had to show your wristband to get into the shop. I remember reading somewhere that you would be asked to leave the park if you came out of an adr after 7. It also said that you could not get into the park without a party ticket after 7 even for an adr.
