Halloween or Christmas Party?

We currently have reservations for October at Boardwalk......BUT.....there are 4 adults and 3 kids all in one deluxe room. Sleeping arrangements are fine, but privacy could be an issue.

For just a few hundred dollars more, we can get a 2 bedroom villa at Saratoga Springs, which would give us more room and privacy, but also it would be less convenient that Boardwalk. But, if we do Saratoga it won't be until November.

We've done the MNSSHP twice and we're wondering if the Christmas Party was better. I'm leaning towards changing the reservation to November just so we can do the Christmas party since we've never done it. :xmas:
Any thoughts or suggestions?

I love the christmas party, it snows on main street, the parade is great, the toy soldiers are my favorite, the Magic Kingdom looks so beautiful dressed for the holiday. The cookies and hot chocolate are delicious. It puts me right into the spirit of Christmas. I feel all fuzzy just thinking about it. lol

If I was in your place and I had already done the Halloween party then I would do the Christmas party, especially since you will have a larger room and be more comfortable, I think your vacation would be so much more enjoyable and you have something different to look forward to. :)

I agree with this advice completely. My favorite party of the two is the Halloween party, but that's just me, and you haven't tried both yet. I think you would love the more spacious accommodations for your party size, although, you do give up the walking distance to Epcot. Still, trying something new wins out for me

I think you would all be more comfortable in the 2 BR villa. Both parties are great, but if you haven't seen Disney all decorated for Christmas and you have the ability to have time off, I would say absolutely try Christmas this year.

We've done both and absolutely love the Christmas Party. As others have said, if you haven't seen Disney all dressed up for Christmas, you must!!! It is definitely a sight to behold.:xmas:

I'm sorry, but I have to ask...what logistics were you using here? Is this a typo? We had 5 people in a room at the Beach Club last summer and JUST had enough physical room for sleeping.

not so merry is way better than not so scary. right??? i mean, cookies and hot chocolate will always win over tootsie rolls. plus it "snows"!! christmas always wins over h'ween.

First of all, how on EARTH are you fitting seven people in one room? Are three of them newborn triplets?!?

That issue aside, I would go for seeing WDW at Christmas. It's GREAT.

Having been to both the Halloween party is probably offers you a little more. The kids loved the idea of going trick or treating in the MK. But the Christmas one is nice too, I would suggest going in November and doing the Christmas party.

The other benefits of going in November is that the resorts will have started Decorating. Depending on when you go the other parks are decorated also, as well as the Osborne lights at DHS. Go for the November and you won't be as crowded in your room either.

Been to both the past two years, prior to that, had been to MNSSHP. So what does that tell you? Went to the Christmas festivities, last week in Nov, when it was not too close to Christmas, and HAD to go back the next year. Have ressies for both for a few days this year. Once you go, it's hard not to go back, for both! But you should definitely try Christmas this year, because there is not only MVMCP but also the Osborne Festival of Dancing Lights at DHS, special holiday attractions at Epcot, the Gingerbread House at the GF, etc.

I haven't done the Halloween party and want to, but went to WDW for the first time at Christmas last year and am hooked! Not only was the Christmas party wonderful but all the other activities at EPCOT and decorations at the parks and resorts themselves make it worthwhile to go at Christmas time.

For that large a group, the suite definitely has benefits. You will have a kitchen, laundry and jacuzzi, living room and separate bedrooms.

MVMCP and MNSSHP have a lot of similarities, but if you haven't done Christmas, it is a nice experience. Probably more significant is being at WDW during the Christmas season more than the Christmas party. The experience is the best of the year!
