Has anyone been to wdw at Halloween time? Are the parks open late? Do people dress up in costumes? We (my husband and I) want to dress up, but will we be the only adults without kids to do so? He wants to go as a pirate, and I'm thinking about being a tower of terror bellhop.

HI,

This is the story. Disney closes MK early and reopens later (7)with Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. This is what you would call a hard ticket event. It requires a separate ticket to get into it. They have a Halloween Parade with a really cool ending. Fireworks, charecters in costume all around the park, trick or treating in the shops for the youngsters, spooky music and lots of fun! They only sell a certain number of tickets to this event for each night. And by all means go in costume. (lots of people do!) Last time we went, three ladies were dressed as Flaura, Fauna and Merriweather. (the fairies from Sleeping Beauty) Their costumes were so good that they were quite often mistaken for Disney Cast Members dressed for the party.
Here are the dates for the party.
Oct. 11,17,20,25,27,31 and Nov. 1.

No you definitely won't be the only adults only dressed up. We went last two years in a row at halloween. Last year I had a Don King hair piece on w/ a little accent makeup. It's so much fun, to be able to be a kid again and nobody cares. They do sell out these tickets almost every year so do get them in advance. Another fun thing to do on or around halloween is the haunted hayride over at fort wilderness. You go on a hayride as they tell the story of Sleepy Hollow in the dark on the back roads at the campground. Its not expensive at all, and it's really an adventure if you get the lady guide we had. (can't remember her name at the moment) Well anyway have fun!:)

We went last year and it was a blast. We liked it more than the Christmas party. We made special plans to go back this year in Oct so we could do the party again. Last year, my kids dressed up as Peter Pan and Wendy and our friends little girl was Tinkerbell. This year they are going as Lilo and Stitch.

That sounds like fun - I'd really love to go....especially since you say it's better than MVMCP! Sorry ya'll, that one just doesn't impress me anymore...

To dress up would be lots of fun though! :D

hey there, I certainly would not wait until I checked into my hotel. I did order my tix and they came shortly thereafter for Oct 27, 2002, however I hear this event sells out rather quickly!!! Any special likes or dislikes on this event for us happy first timers? Thanks!
