Pre-Trip Halloween, a birthday and Christmas! The ever-changing planning of our November 2014 trip!

Hello everyone!

This is a spur of the moment thing since I've never done a trip report before, much less a pre-trip report! But some of you guys seems so nice that I finally decided to bit the bullet and start my PTR.

We went to Disney this past February and on our last day, after much crying and wishing I could just say screw the world, I'm moving to my room on POFQ permanently, we decided that we'd be coming back ASAP. As we set there waiting for the shuttle to take us to the airport I already had my phone calendar opened and we're looking around dates. Would we want to come back in February? Could we afford a trip as big as this one knowing we had a trip to Italy planned for the end of the year already? After much talking (we did have a 11 hour plane ride home after all!) we decided on November 2014. Over 600 days away! Both the MNSSHP and MVMCP played a big part on our decision and after we finally set on our dates we finally could breathe a bit better, we're coming back to our second home!

I've finalized my day-to-day touring plan. You'd think staying for 22 full days would make it possible to do everything we wanted but in the end I had to cut our visits to DTD to just two and compromise on doing AK on our last day instead of EPCOT.

We're going with Josh's recommendations in all but three days where we'll take advantage of PM EMH at DHS to see the Osborne lights, PM EMH at MK to really maximize our touring (we're only doing two full days at MK plus two parties) and AM EMH at AK so we can leave around 3PM and go to DTD.

I've been staring at this spreadsheet for way too long!

With our plans done we're down to waiting for party tickets to go on sale, make our ADRs starting May 13th and then Universal reservations around 90 days out. Oh and waiting on Delta to lower their ticket prices. Right now we're looking at $2,180 for two people but last year we're able to purchase tickets for no more than $1.230 for two then upgrading to Economic Plus for $200 each way for two.

Just 194 days more!

Free dining is here and POFQ was excluded once again. Bummer! BUT... it was included in the RO offer for late September-early October period so I still have some hope we're at least be able to apply a RO to our reservation, I'm not moving resorts, that is final.

Seriously Disney, every dime I save when booking my trip is another dollar towards merchandise and food. Get with the program already, it's not like I'm saving it to myself at this point :hilarious: :greedy:

We just passed our 180 day mark! Just 179 more days till I descend on Floridian territory.

Heard rumors MNSSHP and MVMCP will go on sale on May 5th! I was having some doubts when they cut the November 1st/2nd party but I'm now so pumped about going to the party on the actual Halloween day, it's gonna be awesome!

Anyone one know how far in advance I'd need to order balloons/cake?

Great PTR! Thanks for the good read with my Sat. morning coffee in my Mickey some mornings are rough cup!! lol

It's so fun reading and feeling all the excitement! The spreadsheet is marvelous! I love planning and organization is very important to me! I've lived in Excel for years, its always more enjoyable when its not work related :)

So awesome that you get to go for 22 days, good for you and your mom! Your flight is long enough that you should stay for as long as possible! Universal to kick off the trip should be a blast! I say this not having been there in years! lol We always have the best intentions every Jan to take a day and go but we never do! I think we will get there this Jan but only because we have our bonus trip to WDW in 8 days! I really want to enjoy the magic of HP! Also hubby has NEVER been to Universal so we must get there!

Hope your work load lessens soon! Stepping up and being the boss without the money is never easy, but it shows that you are capable and thats always good for the future :)

Looking forward to more planning updates :)

Thank you for all the kind words @Webb! Glad to be of service on a Saturday morning! I hope you can make it to Universal soon, it's such a great theme park, different than Disney for sure but still a must do.

We'll definitely cross paths them! We're not doing Fantasmi on the 16th though, we're mostly using EMH to see the Osborne lights and meet Santa Goofy.

I'm always jealous of anyone going to Disney, no matter how many days they'll be there for!

Free dining is here and we don't switched resorts after all. We're sticking to POFQ, our favorite resort.

Decided on yet another restaurant: Artist Point on the 16th for dinner. Initially we're going off-site to La Luce but a friend sent me pictures of his meal on April and my mom loved the options so we're trying one more signature restaurant.

Does CMs make get anything when booking ADRs? I'm up to 16 different table service restaurants!

It's D day for our ADRs!

It's 5AM local time, I still have two more hours before I make my ADRs and I'm wide awake after a night spent dreaming of not getting none of our must-dos and having to eat at Casey's (I HATE hot-dogs, even back when I used to eat meat).

BTW, since I linked my parties tickets to MDE I somehow can make FP+ for the next 30 days, for MK only o_O I have no idea why but it was good to get an idea of how everything works before we had to make them for 'real'.

Nice pre-trip report!. Didn't know that you're Brazilian. A really BEAUTIFUL country!, been there @Sao Paulo, Rio, Foz do Iguazu a couple of times. I'm originally from Argentina, your neighbour, but I left Argentina when I was younger for professional offers. Now I'm stablished in Mexico since 2007! and my opportunities to go to Disney are bigger cos' you know, a flight from South America to Orlando is expensive!.

Thanks for sharing your profile and trip plans!

I was already happy we're able to get all my first picks, including California Grill for a party night and 8:10AM Crystal Palace but now I'm over the moon happy.

I called to add a celebration for Flying Fish and inquired about Free Dinning at French Quarter and low behold I had a pin attached to my email! It saved us U$1,470 and I'm almost on the paid off club!

This day couldn't get any better!

It indeed is expensive to travel from South America to the US, that's why we take such long trips!
