If you were only going to spend a half day at a park, do you prefer going first thing in the morning or later and staying until close?

No
It would depend on which park and what the hours are.
MK or Epcot I'd probably choose afternoon.
HS or AK I'd probably choose morning.
But I'd need to know the specifics before choosing.

I really enjoy the different look and feel of the parks in the evening when all the evening lights come on. All the rides seem to be more exciting in the dark. I like staying to the late hours, viewing the lit up HM and graveyard, watching the fireworks go off and see the castle goodnight kiss in MK. At EP I enjoy seeing Illuminations then walking around the WS as it empties out, getting the view of SSE and its goodnight message. AK wandering the darkened pathways and seeing that amazing Tree of Life lit up. And DHS listening to the panicked screams and watching the ToT eerily light up the area. Yes its best for me in the evening, especially when once upon a time the parks would start to empty out more and you could jump on more rides without a line..

I'd always prefer evening, especially with EMH til Midnight (R.I.P. 3AM). Might just be because my wife and I (and now kids) are night owls, but I like seeing the park get emptier as the night goes on, and feel like there's more of a window to get more walk-on rides done later at night as opposed to the morning when you're trying to beat the rush of people as the crowd comes in.

Usually mornings. But with exceptions. I love Tomorrowland at night. Love WS between 4-9 I usually do half a day at a park. Half day at the resort. So it’s pool - park. Park - resort TS and just hanging. (though lately I’ve been spending more evenings off property after my park mornings/afternoons).

Evening! Ride all the attractions I can while the sun is still up for the most part, and when the sun is completely down, I can enjoy the night time with all the pretty lights and such and MAYBE ride something if wait times are low. Gosh I love night time views for each of the parks.

I almost never go to any of the parks earlier than 4:00 PM and typically I can ride almost everything I want to. Evening all the way. The morning benefits you like maybe one or two rides with a short wait before the crowds catch up. Also, all of the parks are better and more romantic at night, in addition to being less hot.

I prefer afternoon. I like having leisurely mornings and how the parks look at night. I also need the morning to mentally prepare for dealing with crowds.

I vote for morning, as early as possible, preferably *Rope Drop* . The Magic Kingdom is a *Different park* at rope drop, its excellent!
