Half day: Morning or Evening?

If it were up to me it would be the morning. However, I have a family that loves to sleep in every chance they get. I'm usually up around 6:30 - 7:00 AM while on vacation, but I will not see anyone until 10:00 - 11:00 AM if I don't wake them. We've been to Disney 30+ times and we have seen the rope-drop once because we had a breakfast reservation at BOG.

I love mornings, however, there's something about being in the parks at night with the lights on that I love. Especially if it's Winter and the holiday decorations are up. Plus, the fireworks are at night.

If you are interested in maximizing your time, the morning. If you can get there near rope drop, chances are you can do several rides within a short window. We were once able to board 4 rides in 15 minutes.

Team Morning. Night time is pretty and can be a special-kind of magical but really only is enjoyable if the park is open late. Morning usually has better temperatures, smaller crowds, fresher(happier) cast members, a cleaner park, and this optimistic vibe I don't quite feel during other parts of the day....probably on account of the increasing crowd.

If you're going to visit either EPCOT or DHS and use the Skyliner to return to your resort, I'd select the evening. Because if you select the morning and then get on the Skyliner during the afternoon, the gondolas may break down and leave you stranded for three hours in the hot sun and afternoon thundershowers.

If you get stranded during the evening, heat related health problems are less likely and you'll have a great view while you're waiting!

In general evening for me, I'm not a morning person and one of the most unique things about the Disney parks compared to other theme parks are the firework shows, so going for the evening for me makes a lot of sense to see those shows for me.
