Hal David has died at age 91. Most posters of a certain age remember him for writing lyrics for numerous Burt Bacharach compositions, such as "Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head" "What the World Needs Now (Is Love Sweet Love) "I Say a Little Prayer: etc.

The first Broadway musical I ever saw in NYC was "Promises, Promises."

But his brother, Mark David, was also a songwriter. I think we're all familiar with Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo.

A very talented family.

When I was a kid, I loved "Raindrops." I still remember my Dad explaining that "the guy" had a bed that was too short for his feet to fit on and not that his feet were actually so large and heavy that his bed would collapse. "Say a Little Prayer" is a great one, too. Both songs hold up well.

RIP, Mr. David

A sad passing. I wish song writers these days would take a cue from the songs guys like him wrote. The lyrics made sense and were easy to listen to.
