H1N1 in WDW , well in reality its everywhere. Now its not the dreaded plague but in reality is as common as being exposed to the common cold. H1N1 is serious yes no doubt but panic is not needed, Simple measures of hand washing covering your mouth with cough or sneeze and STAYING HOME if you feel il;l are common ways to prevent the spread.
If you are scared or concerned over the potential of contracting H1N1 while at WDW truly your fears are over powering. Relax take simple easy precautions and enjoy yourself. If you feel ill while at WDW please and I know it is hard but take a day off stay in your room and relax then see how you feel the next day. Yes I know your on vacation spent monies to be there but in reality it is essential you do this, Please do not run to the nearest clinic or ED, Unless you feel very ill, unable to keep food or liquids down, high fever greater than 101 SOB or pain, EDs , 911 services and clinics are being overwhelmed with persons who simply have a common cold or early flu non H1N1 variant.
Now kids and pregnant women are another story , seek attention if signs and symptoms develop as per the CDC guidelines, simply Google CDC and choose signs and symptoms, Please do not keep your child in the WDW with signs and symptoms unless checked and cleared as non H1N1 it only adds to exposure issues of others and does no good for your child.
As a health care provider I can say these are some of the simplest ways to help yourselves, Again if you feel ill by all means get checked but lets not make a panic out of it. Common sense goes a long way in dealing with this.
As far as the vaccine , It is in short supply again like some have posted, Those of us in the health care industry have not received ours but we continue to care for those who are diagnosed with H1N1 to date in my department none of have contracted the H1N1 with using the measures as outlined by the CDC and department of health in our state.
Again relax have great time in the world
